Hot on the heels of a thrilling double gameweek, Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers face yet another tricky selection challenge heading into Gameweek 34.
The six sides that featured in the double gameweek will sit out the next round, leaving most managers needing to deploy their chips or execute multiple transfers to field a complete XI.
Blank fixtures bring considerable headaches, but thankfully there are still plenty of attractive options available for GW34. Here are the players worth targeting.
Goalkeepers
With Bournemouth, Brighton & Hove Albion, Burnley, Chelsea, Leeds United and Manchester City all absent from Premier League action this round, a number of popular picks are unavailable.
Nevertheless, the league's most reliable shot-stopper remains in contention — Arsenal's David Raya (£6.0m) takes on an out-of-form Newcastle United (H) this Saturday. The Spaniard leads all goalkeepers in points and has still recorded two clean sheets in his last four outings despite Arsenal's recent dip.
Robin Roefs (£4.8m) has had an impressive debut campaign with Sunderland and has a favorable matchup this weekend. The Black Cats host relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest (H), and Roefs racked up 11 points in his most recent home appearance.
Some managers may be tempted to gamble on Liverpool's third-choice keeper Freddie Woodman (£3.9m) following injuries to Alisson and Giorgi Mamardashvili, with the budget option set to make his first Premier League start against Crystal Palace (H) this weekend.
Defenders
Liverpool's Merseyside derby hero Virgil van Dijk (£6.2m) will line up in front of Woodman. The Dutchman has accumulated 58 points across his last eight fixtures, once again demonstrating his goal threat with a late winner against Everton.
Arsenal's defensive options remain reliable selections, with Gabriel (£7.1m) standing out most due to his enormous attacking threat. He has contributed seven goal involvements in the league this season and will also be eyeing a clean sheet against Newcastle at the Emirates. Jurriën Timber (£6.2m) is worth considering if he comes through his fitness test.
Pedro Porro (£5.1m) notched 10 points last weekend and has an enticing fixture against relegated Wolverhampton Wanderers (A). Despite Tottenham Hotspur's dreadful run of form, the Spaniard looks set for a more advanced role under Roberto De Zerbi.
Sunderland's Nordi Mukiele (£4.5m) and Manchester United's returning Harry Maguire (£4.4m) could also prove shrewd picks this gameweek, with the latter facing Brentford (H) on Monday evening.
Midfielders
Brentford will need to keep a close eye on Bruno Fernandes (£10.3m) as he hunts down the Premier League assist record. Having reached 18 for the season in his last outing, the Man Utd captain is a must-have for the final weeks of the season and looks primed for a big haul against the Bees. Casemiro (£5.7m) and Matheus Cunha (£8.0m) provide more affordable entry points into United's midfield.
Those willing to splash out in midfield might turn to Mohamed Salah (£14.0m). The Egyptian has been frustratingly inconsistent this term, but showed real spark with a goal at Everton last weekend and could exploit a Palace backline with one eye on a European semifinal. Dominik Szoboszlai (£7.1m) is another Liverpool option worth considering.
Fulham vs. Aston Villa may not be the most appealing from a defensive perspective, but both sides offer quality midfield options. Harry Wilson (£6.0m) remains a dependable pick at a reasonable price, while Morgan Rogers (£7.4m) posted nine points last weekend and could be motivated for the trip to Craven Cottage.
Coming off a hat-trick and 20-point return against Burnley, Morgan Gibbs-White (£7.5m) is impossible to overlook ahead of a clash with Sunderland. Likewise, Spurs' Xavi Simons (£6.5m) contributed a goal, an assist and 11 points against Brighton last Saturday and could cause havoc against Wolves.
Forwards
Ollie Watkins (£8.7m) looks intent on forcing his way back into the England setup ahead of the World Cup. After racking up 16 points last weekend, he has now scored six times in his last five appearances across all competitions.
Also in claret this weekend is Jarrod Bowen (£7.7m) of West Ham United, who host Everton (H) in a pivotal Premier League survival clash. The Englishman has accumulated 41 points across his last five home matches and represents West Ham's primary goal threat.
Premium forward options are thin on the ground in GW34, which may push managers toward more speculative choices. Sunderland's Brian Brobbey (£5.3m), Everton's Beto (£5.0m) and West Ham's Dominic Solanke (£7.2m) are all potential short-term picks worth a look.
