1994 marked the final occasion when the United States served as host for the men's FIFA World Cup. As the country prepares to welcome the tournament once more in under 100 days, adidas has discovered an innovative approach to connect history with the present moment.

On Monday, the company unveiled their U.S. Denim Collection, which shows remarkable similarity to the 1994 U.S. men's national team away uniforms, "combining retro '90s design elements with contemporary street fashion influences."

The uniform's material features a weathered denim appearance. The shirt showcases diagonally-placed white stars and crisp red-and-white accents on the neckline and arm sections. The shorts maintain simplicity with only the denim styling. The complete set also features a warm-up jacket displaying "USA" lettering across the back.

"Through the U.S. Denim jersey, our goal was to embody the aspect of American soccer that has consistently been unique and innovative," stated Inigo Turner, Design Director at adidas Football. "This creation embraces that essence through striking graphics, bold coloring and a conviction that soccer in America should appear and feel authentically connected to its people."

The promotional effort by Adidas highlighted two legends from the USMNT's 1994 World Cup roster: Cobi Jones and Alexi Lalas, who guided the United States to the knockout stage while performing before record-setting audiences.

In a marketing advertisement, these former athletes took part in a Western-style bidding event for the new Denim Collection uniform, each displaying paddles showing their original jersey numbers. Lalas presented No. 22, while Jones displayed No. 13.
