Adidas Drops Game-Changing 'Trionda' Ball for 2026 World Cup—Features Groundbreaking Built-In AI Technology
adidas has unveiled the TRIONDA official match ball that will be featured at the 2026 FIFA World Cup across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The name deliberately combines "tri" (three) and "onda" (waves), reflecting the ball's design that incorporates elements from all three host nations through bold red, blue, and green patterns that merge at the center, symbolizing unity among the hosting countries.
The blue portion honors the United States through star motifs, while Canada is represented by the red sections featuring the iconic maple leaf. Mexico's contribution appears in the green areas with a prominent eagle pattern, and all three national symbols are also discretely embedded in the ball's foundation.
Beyond its visual appeal, the TRIONDA incorporates advanced performance features. The Connected Ball Technology integrates a motion sensor chip within one of the four panels, strategically counter-weighted to ensure optimal balance.
2026 World Cup Ball Can Be Tracked With Every Touch
This technology enables the ball to transmit live data to Video Assistant Referees for call reviews, working alongside artificial intelligence to deliver quicker offside rulings. Every single ball contact can be monitored, potentially assisting with handball situations or potential red card incidents.
"With TRIONDA, every element makes a difference," stated Sam Handy, adidas Football general manager. "The textured surfaces, multi-layered graphics and vibrant colors create immediate visual impact, resulting in a design that feels dynamic in your grasp.
"This represents our most visually engaging FIFA World Cup ball to date—a masterpiece engineered for the grandest platform, designed to make you want to touch it, appreciate it and most importantly, play with it."

Solene Stoermann, category director at adidas, commented: "Football generates happiness—and no competition captures that happiness quite like a FIFA World Cup.
"For the first time, we'll witness it spanning three nations, bringing with it an Official Match Ball deserving of such an event. Once the tournament hosts were confirmed, we recognized the need to create something extraordinary—a ball suitable for play anywhere, from residential yards to the world's premier venues.
"This upcoming summer, TRIONDA is destined to play a starring role in the planet's greatest spectacle, and we eagerly anticipate fans and players experiencing this historic moment."
