Al Hilal Make Their Move for Raphinha as Barcelona Star Boldly Declares His Future Plans

Raphinha's future at Barcelona has come into question in recent days, with the Saudi Pro League — and Al Hilal under Simone Inzaghi in particular — reportedly eyeing the Brazilian winger. However, Inzaghi's agent has since moved swiftly to dismiss any such speculation.

Over the weekend, reports emerged suggesting a $105.2 million (€90 million) bid for Raphinha was set to come from the Saudi Pro League, with Al Hilal named as the likely suitor. However, Inzaghi's representative, Federico Pastorello, publicly stepped forward to deny the claims, clarifying that the Italian coach has no interest in pursuing the Barcelona forward.

"Inzaghi has not requested Raphinha's transfer as has been rumored in recent hours," Pastorello told 365 Scores, via SPORT.

"Inzaghi has decided to postpone all matters relating to new signings or the list of potential departures until the end of the season. The fact is Inzaghi doesn't want the transfer market to distort a team [Al Hilal] focused on the final stretch of the season."

Why Barcelona, Raphinha Would Consider Saudi Pro League Move

Before reports of a potential Saudi Pro League move emerged, SPORT indicated that Raphinha had been weighing his options and reflecting on his future — something he reportedly communicated directly to Barcelona's leadership.

Raphinha put pen to paper on a contract extension last summer running through 2028. Following a remarkable campaign in which the Brazilian racked up 59 goal contributions for Barcelona and emerged as a genuine Ballon d'Or contender, his market value had never been higher.

However, injuries have taken their toll on Raphinha in 2025–26, with two hamstring problems causing him to miss more than a month of action. The second setback came at a particularly painful moment, leaving him sidelined as Barcelona were knocked out of the Champions League. On an individual level, his output has dropped considerably, with just 27 goal involvements — fewer than half of what he produced throughout 2024–25.

If Barcelona are to profit from selling Raphinha, this summer appears to be the ideal window given his still-elevated market value. The Brazilian turns 30 in December, and should fitness concerns continue to plague him in 2026–27, his valuation could take a notable hit by this time next year.

For Raphinha, interest from the Saudi Pro League would present a chance to secure a highly lucrative deal and maximize his earnings. That said, with Al Hilal appearing to have closed the door on any transfer talk, the player himself seems content to remain where he is.

Raphinha Wants to Stay at Barcelona

Despite suggestions that Raphinha might be open to departing Barcelona this summer, MARCA has since reported that the Brazilian is determined to continue his career in Catalonia, regardless of any offers that come his way.

Over the past two seasons, Raphinha has undergone a remarkable transformation — from a player many felt should leave the club to a beloved fan favorite and one of the finest performers in the world when fit. Manager Hansi Flick has breathed new life into the Brazilian's career, and he remains central to Barça's future plans.

Barcelona are expected to sanction departures if compelling offers arrive, as the club looks to raise funds for their high-profile transfer targets — but Raphinha is not among those they are willing to let go.

Speculation surrounding Raphinha's future is likely to persist throughout the summer, but for now, nothing concrete has materialized. The expectation remains that the 29-year-old will be a key fixture in Flick's starting lineup heading into 2026–27.
