Alexander Isak extended a peace offering to frustrated Newcastle United supporters following his contentious transfer to Liverpool on the final day of the transfer window, expressing that he remains "eternally thankful" for their backing.

Recent weeks haven't brought much goodwill toward Isak's direction. Following a summer spent in voluntary separation, missing the pre-season Asian tour to train with his previous club Real Sociedad, initial signs of supporter unrest emerged during the season opener.

That hostility intensified following Isak's bombshell declaration on August 19, where he claimed Newcastle had reneged on their promise to allow his departure this summer. "When commitments are broken and confidence is shattered, the partnership cannot persist," he declared angrily.

The songs that echoed through Newcastle's following fixtures were harsh and profane. One prominent supporters' organization summarized their contempt for the departing forward with just two printable words: "Good riddance."

Isak certainly cannot anticipate a friendly reception upon returning to St James' Park with Liverpool soon, yet he attempted to repair relationships through an Instagram post after finalizing his transfer. Vlado Lemić, the former Serbian player who acted as Isak's consultant during this turbulent period, adopted a more cutting tone. In a statement provided to talkSPORT, Lemić is reported as saying: "It's pleasant when you have companionship, but it is even more pleasant when you understand who you will never associate with again."

Throughout Isak's contentious dispute, there appeared to be some split within the Newcastle roster regarding their star forward's behavior. Sven Botman and Anthony Gordon were both identified as close supporters of Isak and used social platforms to bid their departing colleague goodbye.
