Alexis Mac Allister Exposes Liverpool Squad's Frustration Over Dragged-Out Alexander Isak Transfer Drama

Alexis Mac Allister has revealed that the Liverpool squad became weary of awaiting developments regarding the prolonged transfer negotiations for Alexander Isak.

The initial reports of Liverpool's interest in Newcastle United's Isak surfaced on July 15, but the transfer wasn't officially completed until September 1 on Deadline Day, following extensive discussions and negotiations between all parties involved.

Liverpool achieved their objective by securing Isak's signature for £125 million ($168.6 million), with the squad expressing relief at finally reaching a conclusion to the lengthy transfer process.

"Initially, it was significant news, but eventually we became somewhat exhausted because the process dragged on too long," Mac Allister shared with TNT Sports.

"However, we're all aware of his quality as a player. He will be extremely valuable to our team and we're delighted to have him join us."

Isak's exit from Newcastle became a contentious situation, with supporters turning against the forward after he refused to play. Official communications from both the club and player heightened the controversy.

"Perhaps the other club isn't pleased, but that's how football operates. [Liverpool] invested a substantial amount, so I believe it benefits both teams," Mac Allister added.

"It's positive for him since it fulfilled his wishes, and we're thrilled to have him because we understand his capabilities - we've experienced his talent firsthand when playing against him."

Head coach Arne Slot is prepared to investigate methods to incorporate both Isak and new signing Hugo Ekitiké, whose adaptability could create fresh attacking combinations once the Swedish striker regains full fitness for consistent appearances.
