Amorim Drops Major Hint on Bryan Mbeumo's Highly-Anticipated Man Utd Bow

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has indicated that new signing Bryan Mbeumo is being gradually introduced to the squad's pre-season activities and won't feature until their final match of the American tour.

Amorim's team began the Premier League Summer Series with a 2-1 triumph against West Ham United at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey over the weekend. Matheus Cunha made his second summer appearance following his £62.5 million ($84 million) transfer from Wolverhampton Wanderers, though new teammate Mbeumo was absent from the lineup.

The ex-Brentford star is included in United's traveling party—unlike four players deemed surplus to requirements—but wasn't prepared for his unofficial bow. United's upcoming encounter with Bournemouth will also arrive prematurely for his involvement.

"Bryan is beginning gradually," Amorim explained to MUTV. "He won't feature in our next fixture. We're optimistic about having Bryan available for our final U.S. match. He's currently training, so we'll assess the situation."

United wrap up their stateside tour with an encounter against Everton at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Sunday, Aug. 3, which may serve as Mbeumo's delayed introduction. The Red Devils have an additional exhibition against Fiorentina planned for the subsequent weekend before launching their Premier League season with a challenging fixture against Arsenal on Sunday, Aug. 17.

Amorim was required to consider that upcoming match following Saturday's exhibition and emphasized that every position in the starting eleven remains contested. "It's a competitive squad and we must develop all players, though we don't have extensive weeks or numerous matches to prepare the entire team," the Portuguese tactician noted. "That situation could shift—you witnessed in the second period that there are players capable of starting the opening match. I haven't finalized that decision yet."

Mbeumo will be eager to take the field at some stage this summer to demonstrate his worthiness for selection.
