Andy Robertson Faces Career-Defining Transfer Crossroads As European Giants Circle

Andy Robertson Faces Career-Defining Transfer Crossroads As European Giants Circle

Andy Robertson looks set to have several suitors vying for his signature this summer, after an emotional farewell at Anfield over the weekend, with Serie A powerhouse Juventus reportedly entering the picture.

The Scottish left-back spent nine productive years at Liverpool, collecting nine major trophies along the way. He is a two-time Premier League champion and was also a key member of the club's Champions League-winning side in 2018–19.

Robertson has been a fan favorite on Merseyside, but both sides appear ready to part ways. As Liverpool transition into a new chapter without many of their Jürgen Klopp-era mainstays, Robertson — who celebrated his 32nd birthday in March — believes he still has plenty to offer at the top level.

He found himself sharing playing time with underwhelming new signing Milos Kerkez during his final campaign at Anfield, and will depart the club when his contract expires next month.

Robertson came close to departing Liverpool in January, when Tottenham Hotspur made a move for the seasoned defender. The left-back was open to the switch, but the Reds stalled, unable to secure a suitable replacement, and ultimately blocked the transfer from going ahead.

Spurs, who narrowly escaped a shock relegation on the final day of the Premier League campaign, are said to still be keen on landing the 32-year-old. Some reports indicate a deal has already been agreed in principle with Robertson, though other clubs are beginning to show interest.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus have now entered the race for the soon-to-be free agent. The Bianconeri are reported to have reached out to Robertson's representatives to explore the terms of a potential deal, and are weighing up whether to table a formal offer to the Scotland international.

Under Scudetto-winning boss Luciano Spalletti, Juve endured a frustrating conclusion to a season that showed flashes of promise. They were eliminated from the Champions League in the knockout playoff stage and subsequently missed out on next season's competition after finishing sixth in Serie A.

Why Juventus Move Should Tempt Robertson

Ultimately, the decision rests with Robertson, who appeared content to stay in the Premier League with Spurs. However, Juventus's interest is likely to create a genuine dilemma, with Scotland's skipper now having the opportunity to join several of his fellow countrymen in Italy.

Six Scottish players featured in Serie A this season, among them Napoli pair Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour, along with Torino forward Ché Adams.

Robertson has witnessed firsthand the transformation the Italian lifestyle has brought about in McTominay, with the former Manchester United midfielder earning 18th place in the 2025 Ballon d'Or rankings after playing a pivotal role in Napoli's title-winning campaign under Antonio Conte last season.

The 32-year-old is no stranger to European football through Liverpool's continental adventures, yet Robertson has never represented a club outside of Britain. Juventus may not be the dominant force they once were, but the prestige and tradition of the Bianconeri cannot be overlooked. It would represent a compelling opportunity for the left-back to embrace an entirely new challenge as he enters the latter stages of his career.

There is nothing more left to prove on English soil.
