Antony Eyes Fresh Escape from Man Utd as Real Betis Negotiations Heat Up

Italian Serie A club Como has emerged as the newest team to present Antony with a potential exit from Manchester United, according to recent reports.

Manchester United is seeking permanent transfer deals for Antony, who successfully restored his standing through an impressive half-season loan at Real Betis last campaign. The Spanish club remains interested in retaining Antony but has not yet finalized terms with United.

As talks between United and Betis show limited advancement, Fabrizio Romano reports that Como has contacted the Brazilian winger to express their interest.

Como, managed by former Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona player Cesc Fàbregas, earned promotion to Serie A for the 2024–25 campaign and, following a 10th-place finish, are developing bold transfer strategies backed by their affluent ownership.

Antony features among their target list. The 25-year-old has been informed about the opportunity to join Como, though currently he remains focused on returning to Betis.

Antony's challenge lies in Betis needing to reach an agreement with United. The Manchester club seeks a permanent transfer while Betis has concentrated on securing another loan arrangement, with the reported £30 million ($40.4 million) valuation considered excessive for the La Liga team.

United has no requirement to fulfill Antony's desire to rejoin Betis. With two years left on his contract, his current club is willing to wait for the most favorable offer, with alternative options likely only being evaluated late in the transfer period.

Como understands Antony's preference for returning to Betis but remains ready to wait until later this summer, when the winger may need to make a choice if Betis still hasn't satisfied United's financial requirements for either a permanent transfer or another loan deal.
