April 2026 Premier League Awards: Every Player and Manager Battling for Monthly Honours Revealed

April has proven to be a difficult month for a number of clubs. Arsenal's title bid has faltered badly, Chelsea parted ways with their manager, and two Premier League sides have had their relegation confirmed. Yet for others, the arrival of spring has brought cause for optimism.

Manchester City have taken full advantage of Arsenal's dip in form to breathe new life into the title race, earning multiple nominations across the monthly player and manager awards. West Ham and Leeds United have also earned recognition for their efforts at the wrong end of the standings, helping to keep the relegation battle alive.

April will see two fresh faces claim the awards, as both Mikel Arteta and Bruno Fernandes have been unable to retain the honours they picked up in March.

April 2026 Premier League Player of the Month Nominees

Morgan Gibbs-White

No player has contributed more assists in April than West Ham skipper Jarrod Bowen. The much-criticised captain has silenced his doubters by setting up four goals across three matches. Bowen's opening assist of the month helped create the first of two goals that Konstantinos Mavropanos has impressively scored from center back — a tally matched by both Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah.

Fellow nominee Noah Okafor has netted three times in April, helping Leeds move almost entirely out of the relegation zone. Morgan Gibbs-White struck three goals in a single match for Nottingham Forest against Burnley, almost single-handedly engineering a stunning comeback that has also lifted the mood around the City Ground.

That performance was no fluke from Gibbs-White. The England contender is the Premier League's joint-leading scorer throughout 2026. Brentford's Igor Thiago is the only other player to have reached double figures during this stretch.

Rayan Cherki brings both flair and substance to Manchester City's attack. The mercurial winger appears intent on settling games as swiftly as possible before spending the remainder bamboozling the opposition. "When I have the ball, I want people to say: 'How did he do that? How did he see it?'" Cherki remarked earlier this campaign. Consider it done.

Nico O'Reilly has produced his own jaw-dropping moments throughout April, while the south coast duo of Pascal Groß and Alex Scott — two underappreciated midfielders at contrasting stages of their careers — are both finally receiving the recognition they deserve.

April 2026 Premier League Manager of the Month Nominees

Pep Guardiola

Nearly half of the league's managers have received nominations for April's accolade — which should be fairly easy to determine, at least according to Pep Guardiola. "This is the easiest award," the City manager once joked. "Most points you do in a month is the Manager of the Month. So it's simple."

Guardiola leads that straightforward measure for April, amassing a perfect nine points from nine while also booking a place in the FA Cup final. However, Arne Slot's Liverpool also put together a flawless record, comfortably beating Fulham and Crystal Palace either side of a thrilling Merseyside derby win at Everton's new stadium.

Brighton finished March in 10th place and surged into the top six over their final three fixtures. Should they hold that position and Aston Villa end up fifth, Fabian Hürzeler would find his side competing in the Champions League next season. Andoni Iraola could also be at Europe's top table next term — and Bournemouth might even join them with Marco Rose in the dugout.

Daniel Farke, Vítor Pereira and Nuno Espírito Santo are all focused primarily on securing Premier League survival for their respective clubs. Leeds and Forest look reasonably well positioned, but Nuno's Hammers are still locked in a battle with Tottenham Hotspur.
