Liverpool boss Arne Slot has confirmed that winger Mohamed Salah is expected to be fit enough to feature in Friday's away fixture against Aston Villa, though only for a brief substitute appearance.
Salah suffered a muscle injury late in April which, given the circumstances, threatened to sideline him and deny him the opportunity to bid farewell to Liverpool before his summer exit, but the club eventually confirmed they anticipated seeing Salah back on the pitch before the season concludes.
Slot has now disclosed that Salah's return will come on Friday, where a short cameo from the bench should help him build sufficient fitness for a farewell appearance at Anfield the following week.
"Mo will be available tomorrow but only for a few minutes," Slot confirmed. "Hopefully he can come in."
Slot also praised left back Andy Robertson—"a great human being"—ahead of his send-off next week, but declined to disclose whether Liverpool supporters will have additional players to bid farewell to.
Slot: No Updates on Alisson, Konaté Futures

Much like Robertson, center back Ibrahima Konaté has just six weeks remaining on his Liverpool deal. The French international has openly expressed his wish to remain at the club, but as things stand, no headway has been made on a contract extension.
"If there is a resolution then we will tell the world," Slot insisted. "At the moment, not yet."
Meanwhile, growing uncertainty also surrounds veteran goalkeeper Alisson. The Brazilian, currently sidelined through injury, has one year left on his deal but has been strongly linked with a move to Italian giants Juventus.
Slot admitted he only had the "boring, same old answer," regarding Alisson's situation. "I am reading the same things as you are probably reading but it is not what I would talk about here."
When asked whether fans should be giving Alisson a "big send off" over the coming games, the manager called for that same level of backing regardless of what lies ahead for the goalkeeper.
"You can ask as many times as you want and in different ways but my answer will be the same," he laughed. "I think our fans need to support Alisson, no matter if it is his last game or if it was his first game. That is what they have always done.
"If he is in goal tomorrow or next week, our fans will support him. The same goes for next season."
