Arsenal Accidentally Reveals Their Next Summer Target Following Noni Madueke Deal

Arsenal mistakenly published an image that seemed to reveal Cristhian Mosquera's initial club interview while announcing Noni Madueke's signing from Chelsea.

Madueke completed his £52 million ($69.8 million) transfer on Friday, marking the fourth major signing this summer following Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martín Zubimendi and Christian Nørgaard, with the Gunners still pursuing at least two additional acquisitions.

Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyökeres remains the primary objective and discussions regarding the final details of a reported €73.5 million (£63.7 million, $85.5 million) deal are tantalizingly near completion, though Mosquera is anticipated to be the next arrival after an agreement was already secured with Valencia.

Mosquera has bid farewell to Valencia and seems to have already finalized his Arsenal transfer, with the club unintentionally featuring a photograph of the young defender in conversation with club media during their Madueke announcement.

The photograph was quickly removed, though observant supporters had already captured evidence of the mistake.

Mosquera is expected to join Arsenal for a bargain price of merely £13 million ($15.1 million) having entered his final contract year at Valencia while declining renewal terms.

The 21-year-old primarily operates as a centre-back but can also function effectively on the right flank, potentially addressing the gap created by Takehiro Tomiyasu's contract termination.

"The decision to depart wasn't made hastily," Tomiyasu explained to DAZN recently.

"Initially, I want to clarify that my contract termination wasn't one-sided, nor did I unilaterally declare 'I'm departing'. We engaged in thorough discussions and reached the mutual understanding that 'this choice benefits me, the club, and everyone involved,' leading to my departure. Everything concluded on good terms.

"From my viewpoint, the timing is optimal, I'll have freedom, and crucially, the most beneficial aspect of this choice is that it enables me to concentrate on my recovery and personal development."
