Arsenal Chase Georgian Superstar Kvaratskhelia in Blockbuster Transfer Move

It's no secret that Arsenal are in the market for a left-wing upgrade, and few players in the world fit the bill better than Paris Saint-Germain's Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The Gunners' strong Premier League run, built on set-piece brilliance and solid defensive work, has somewhat masked the team's shortcomings in attack. Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard, and Eberechi Eze have all failed to reach double figures in goals or assists this season, despite each making more than 40 appearances.

Gabriel Martinelli may have 11 goals to his credit, but that return is merely passable for a side that, until recently, was in the hunt for a historic quadruple.

It's fascinating to consider how much Arsenal could improve with a world-class winger added to Mikel Arteta's squad—one who arrives as a complete, ready-made talent. Kvaratskhelia possesses the creativity, dribbling ability, and finishing that the likes of Trossard and Martinelli can only aspire to, and would bring a winning pedigree that has long been absent at the Emirates.

The End Product Is Undeniable

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

One could write at length about Kvaratskhelia's individual brilliance. The 25-year-old rarely requires assistance to get past a retreating defender, relying on his dribbling and sharp directional changes to leave even the most accomplished markers in his wake.

Add to that his composure under pressure and relentless desire to drive at goal—always willing to take the initiative rather than wasting time on the ball without purpose. He's equally generous in the final third, never shy about threading a pass to put a teammate in a scoring position.

But perhaps the simplest measure of his quality lies in his output. Despite playing inconsistent minutes this season, Kvaratskhelia has already racked up 22 goal contributions. Most notably, he delivered three goals and an assist against Chelsea in the Champions League round of 16, demonstrating he can hurt Premier League sides just as effectively as PSG's Ligue 1 opponents.

Even in the previous campaign, after making his move to the French capital in January, he managed 12 goal contributions across 25 outings.

A Proven Winner Across Multiple Leagues

Within just five months of joining PSG, Kvaratskhelia played a role in the club's quadruple triumph, which included the Parisians' maiden Champions League title. While Ousmane Dembélé, Vitinha, and Achraf Hakimi grabbed most of the spotlight, the Georgian international was far from a bystander during the historic achievement.

Kvaratskhelia set up Dembélé's early opener in the first leg of the Champions League semifinals against Arsenal, before netting himself in the final—a commanding 5–0 victory over Inter Milan.

Prior to his time in France, Kvaratskhelia was the standout performer at Napoli. The winger, who earned the "Kvaradona" nickname in Naples in homage to Diego Maradona, helped the Italian club end a 33-year wait for a Serie A title in his very first season.

He contributed 14 goals and 14 assists during that fairytale title-winning campaign in 2022–23, drawing admiring glances from clubs across Europe before he eventually chose PSG two years on.

Potentially Available

Mikel Arteta

Some dream transfers remain nothing more than wishful thinking. However, a potential switch to north London for Kvaratskhelia is not entirely out of the question.

The Independent reports that Arsenal are exploring a deal for the 25-year-old ahead of the summer window. Kvaratskhelia's representatives are said to be "open to the idea," though it would require a substantial offer and considerable persuasion to lure him away from Luis Enrique's project at PSG.

The Gunners reportedly see the player as someone who could "offer more individual creativity" to Arteta's attacking unit. Kvaratskhelia would undoubtedly raise the squad's ceiling if he were to come in as a replacement for either Trossard or Martinelli.

PSG, however, are said to regard the former Napoli star as a "near-unsellable" asset, which could complicate any potential deal. That said, "near-unsellable" is not the same as "unsellable," leaving Arsenal some room to maneuver if they can put together the finances to tempt both player and club with a bid in line with his estimated market value of $103.8 million (£77.9 million, €90 million).
