Arsenal Eyes Major Swoop for Premier League Star Striker

Arsenal are reportedly demonstrating greater interest in Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze compared to other clubs, as the North London side considers their upcoming transfer strategy.

The club is actively pursuing deals for Martín Zubimendi, Christian Nørgaard, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Cristhian Mosquera, mainly to strengthen squad depth and organization. However, the Gunners have yet to make significant headway in targeting players who can enhance their attacking prowess.

Viktor Gyökeres seems to be in dispute with Sporting CP regarding the transfer fee the Portuguese club is willing to accept, while negotiations for Benjamin Šeško have reportedly reached an impasse. Additionally, new speculation connects Arsenal with a €100 million (£85.8 million, $118.2 million) move for Hugo Ekitike.

While Eze may not be the striker Arsenal supporters are demanding to challenge Liverpool and a revamped Manchester City in the upcoming Premier League championship battle, the Palace star who netted the decisive goal in May's FA Cup final could undoubtedly contribute goals and creative play.

Arsenal were previously linked earlier this month with "investigating" the feasibility of such a transfer. Currently, The Athletic reports that "genuine deliberation" is taking place and "no other teams possess comparable interest levels" in Eze presently, though direct communication with Palace has not yet occurred.

The England squad member possesses a release clause believed to exceed £60 million (£82.6 million), but "several alternative targets" remain on Arsenal's shortlist for an adaptable attacker. Should the Gunners proceed with Eze, they would aim to secure a reduced fee through negotiations with Palace.

Eze has regularly delivered impressive performances in the Premier League since Palace invested £17 million ($23.4 million) following his Championship displays with Queens Park Rangers. He earned his first England senior cap in 2023 and currently holds 11 appearances with one goal for his country.
