Manchester City's 3–0 win over Crystal Palace means Arsenal cannot clinch the Premier League title on Monday night against Burnley, but a win for the Gunners would leave them needing just one more result to go their way.
And if Bournemouth take points off City on Tuesday night, Mikel Arteta's side will end the club's 22-year wait for a league title before their final-day fixture at Selhurst Park.
Last week's contentious win at West Ham United was enormously important, but Arsenal supporters, given how long they've waited to reclaim their place at the top of English football, won't be celebrating prematurely. They've suffered too many disappointments in the past.
Surely the Gunners can't stumble against an already-relegated Burnley side, can they?
Ben White Sidelined Indefinitely
The crucial victory over West Ham did come at a price, as Arsenal lost both starting full backs to injury.
Riccardo Calafiori's fitness concerns seem to be a recurring theme, and he was forced off last weekend with a knock. He remains in contention for Burnley's visit, with Arteta also having Piero Hincapié available as backup.
Ben White's knee injury is considerably more serious, with confirmation coming earlier this week that the right back's campaign is finished. The Englishman will also miss the World Cup, having recently worked his way back into Thomas Tuchel's plans.
Jurriën Timber is pushing hard to be available for the Champions League final, though nothing is certain. Meanwhile, Mikel Merino's return from a foot injury is drawing close. The Spaniard has been absent since the turn of the year following surgery, but could still contribute for the Gunners before the season concludes.
Arsenal Predicted Lineup vs. Burnley (4-2-3-1)
GK: David Raya—An opposing goalkeeper's misfortune helped Raya secure a third straight Premier League Golden Glove. Two more clean sheets, and the Gunners could well wrap up the title before the season is out.
RB: Cristhian Mosquera—With Timber not yet ready to fill White's boots, Arteta will turn to the dependable and athletic Mosquera at right back. The summer signing has enjoyed an impressive debut campaign in north London.
CB: William Saliba—The Frenchman has predictably earned a place in France's World Cup squad, and a triumphant end to Arsenal's season could mark the beginning of a memorable summer for the young centre-back.
CB: Gabriel—Gabriel has faced tougher attacking threats in the Premier League this season, though Burnley striker Zian Flemming has quietly impressed. He's reached double figures in goals for the relegated Clarets.
LB: Piero Hincapié—Calafiori has been a real handful for opposition defences in recent weeks, but may not be fully fit to start on Monday night. If that's the case, Hincapié will step in.
CM: Declan Rice—Having played a part in his former club's relegation last weekend, Rice will have no hesitation if Arsenal put the visitors to the sword on Monday night.
CM: Myles Lewis-Skelly—Lewis-Skelly has added a new dimension to this Arsenal side, with his composure in possession and intelligent positioning giving the Gunners greater fluidity in attack. He should retain his spot alongside Rice.
RW: Bukayo Saka—After a subdued performance in east London, the Emirates Stadium crowd will be expecting their "star boy" to deliver something memorable on Monday night.
AM: Eberechi Eze—Martin Ødegaard pulled the strings and created the decisive moment last weekend, but Arteta will likely favour the more spontaneous Eze against a resolute Burnley side.
LW: Leandro Trossard—Arteta has relied heavily on the Belgian in the closing stages of the season, and Trossard has repaid that trust. He's delivered key contributions against Atlético Madrid and West Ham.
ST: Viktor Gyökeres—The Swede looked weary after the Atléti clash last weekend, but should appear far sharper on Monday night. Gyökeres netted in the reverse fixture and has generally thrived in these types of matches.
