Arsenal Finally Break Deadlock in Viktor Gyokeres Transfer Pursuit

Arsenal are nearing a complete deal with Sporting CP for the acquisition of forward Viktor Gyökeres, according to recent reports.

While the fundamental structure of Gyökeres's transfer was established several weeks prior, Arsenal and Sporting encountered disagreements regarding the bonus clauses suggested by the North London club, creating an opening for potential interference from longtime interested party Manchester United.

Nevertheless, Gyökeres has maintained his commitment to joining Arsenal, consistently telling all interested clubs that he would only consider a transfer to the Emirates Stadium, and The Athletic has now reported a significant development in the discussions.

Negotiations have reached an "exceptionally advanced phase" following Arsenal and Sporting's resolution of the bonus structure dispute, with a favorable outcome now anticipated very soon. Gyökeres's representative has also foregone his fee for the transaction to facilitate progress—€6.5 million (£5.6 million, $7.6 million), as reported by Record.

Arsenal will provide an upfront payment of €63.5million (£54.8 million, $74.2 million) alongside an additional €10 million (£8.6 million, $11.7 million) in achievement-based incentives.

A five-year deal awaits Gyökeres, who will shortly receive authorization to travel and finalize his anticipated transfer to Arsenal.

Arsenal have already completed four major acquisitions this summer, securing Kepa Arrizabalaga and Noni Madueke from Chelsea along with Martín Zubimendi and Christian Nørgaard, while Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera's signing is merely pending official announcement.

Mosquera is scheduled to link up with Mikel Arteta's team during their pre-season campaign in Singapore, with Gyökeres expected to join in the upcoming days.
