Arsenal Launch Bold Bid for Chelsea Star Noni Madueke as Blues Set Sky-High Price Tag

Arsenal have progressed further in their pursuit of Chelsea's winger Noni Madueke, based on recent developments in this transfer story.

With Chelsea continuing to bring in offensive players, Madueke faces the possibility of dropping lower in the hierarchy at Stamford Bridge, while this situation could allow the Blues to make a financial gain on the young England player—even if it involves selling to a competitor.

After successfully determining Madueke's willingness to make a brief journey across London, Arsenal are reportedly already in agreement on personal contract terms with the ex-PSV Eindhoven player.

The next phase involves the potentially more challenging task of working out a transfer price with Chelsea.

The Athletic initially reported discussions between the teams beginning after Arsenal initiated contact. Fabrizio Romano provided additional information, noting that a £50 million ($68 million) offer was presented, including performance-related bonuses. However, this amount falls short of Chelsea's expectations.

The Blues are reportedly seeking more than £50 million in guaranteed funds exclusively, referencing the proposed £55 million ($74.7 million) agreement for Anthony Elanga's move from Nottingham Forest to Newcastle United as a benchmark.

The Gunners have previously conducted transfer business with Chelsea this summer, activating a £5 million ($6.8 million) release clause to secure goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

A significantly costlier transaction involved Kai Havertz moving from Stamford Bridge to the Emirates Stadium for £65 million ($88.3 million) in 2023. Players including Jorginho, Olivier Giroud, David Luiz, Willian, Ashley Cole, Petr Cech, William Gallas, Yossi Benayoun and Lassana Diarra have all transferred directly between these clubs over the past two decades.

Arsenal continue to be associated with Eberechi Eze as well, though it appears to be a choice between the Crystal Palace player and Madueke. Eze carries a £60 million ($81.5 million) buyout clause that Palace would accept through three installment payments, but Bayern Munich represents competing interest.
