Arsenal, Liverpool, and Man City Face Steep January Price Tag for Crystal Palace Star Marc Guehi
Crystal Palace are reportedly ready to seek up to £40 million ($53.6 million) for defender Marc Guéhi should they agree to part ways with him during the January transfer period, according to recent reports.
Top European clubs have been monitoring Guéhi since the previous summer, when a £35 million move to Liverpool collapsed at the final stage. With just six months remaining on his current deal, Guéhi has become an attractive target for clubs looking to secure his services without a transfer fee at season's end.
Liverpool continue to track the defender, while both Barcelona and Real Madrid have expressed admiration, and Arsenal have recently entered the pursuit. Manchester City, though, have intensified the transfer speculation with their eagerness to bring Guéhi in immediately as they deal with defensive personnel issues that have left both Rúben Dias and Joško Gvardiol unavailable in recent matches.
Should Guéhi depart Palace this month, The Guardian reports it would require approximately £40 million to complete the transaction.
Despite Guéhi's contract nearing its conclusion and foreign clubs now being able to negotiate directly with him regarding a free summer move, Palace seem willing to increase their valuation, considering the challenges of securing a suitable replacement during a January market that typically offers fewer options at higher costs.
Man City's Injury Crisis Sparks Early Interest

Palace manager Oliver Glasner, who previously maintained that Guéhi would remain at the club throughout the summer, adjusted his position this week by acknowledging that the England defender might depart for an appropriate offer in January.
The decision now rests with City regarding whether to match that valuation or potentially lose out on Guéhi. International suitors, including Bayern Munich, can negotiate a summer transfer directly, and there had been indications earlier this campaign that Guéhi preferred completing the season with Palace before considering his numerous options.
City recalled 20-year-old Max Alleyne from his Watford loan spell as an immediate response to the Dias and Gvardiol setbacks, adding to a defensive unit that currently features only Abdukodir Khusanov and the injury-susceptible Nathan Aké. All three started in Saturday's FA Cup third-round fixture against League One side Exeter City, with 17-year-old Stephen Mfuni joining improvised fullbacks Nico O'Reilly and Matheus Nunes among the substitutes.
City's advantage lies in the expectation that Guéhi's other potential destinations are unlikely to pursue him immediately, though free transfer proposals from European clubs for the summer may emerge shortly.
