Arsenal Ready to Axe Six Stars in Major Squad Overhaul

Arsenal are said to be preparing departures for half a dozen players during the summer transfer window, with Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko among those potentially leaving.

The North London club has been active in the market, investing over £190 million ($257 million) to secure six new signings. However, unlike other major Premier League spenders, the title contenders haven't offset these acquisitions with significant player sales.

So far, Arsenal have only raised £6.9 million ($9.3 million) through departures; Nuno Tavares completed his permanent switch to Lazio after his loan spell, while the Marquinhos project ended disappointingly with a low-key return to his native Brazil.

While there's no indication that Mikel Arteta's team risks violating the Premier League's profit and sustainability regulations (PSR) through excessive spending, squad reduction opportunities clearly exist.

Defensive players Kiwior and Zinchenko are believed to be available for transfer, as reported by The Athletic. Fábio Vieira, Reiss Nelson, Karl Hein, and Albert Sambi Lokonga, who all spent the previous campaign on loan and were excluded from the traveling squad for Sunday's match at Manchester United's Old Trafford, round out the potential departures.

The publication also mentions Leandro Trossard as someone who might be sold for the appropriate fee. Bayern Munich showed interest earlier in the window, while Fenerbahçe and Saudi Arabian clubs have also been mentioned as potential suitors. Trossard was included in Arteta's squad against United but remained unused as a substitute.

Porto remains connected with a potential Kiwior transfer, though his situation appears fluid. Zinchenko, meanwhile, has been more vocal about his limited playing time and clearly sits third in the left-back hierarchy behind Riccardo Calafiori and Myles Lewis-Skelly. Even deploying Jurriën Timber from his right-back position might be preferable.
