Arsenal Star Weighs Exit Options Despite Club's Contract Proposal

Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard is reportedly weighing up his future as the North London club appears open to entertaining bids for the Belgian international.
While Trossard doesn't feature in Arsenal's first-choice lineup and approaches his 31st birthday in December, he still managed 56 appearances in all competitions during the previous campaign, registering 20 combined goals and assists.
However, this contribution could potentially be replaced, and The Athletic suggests that securing a new wide attacker—possibly Eberechi Eze—might prompt Arsenal to consider offers for either Trossard or Gabriel Martinelli.
The same publication indicates that contract discussions between Trossard and Arsenal, focusing on improved wages rather than extending his deal, have stalled without reaching an agreement. Meanwhile, the player is keen to "explore what possibilities emerge in the transfer market". Arsenal may prefer to resolve the situation promptly after having to turn down an approach from Al Ittihad last September.
Trossard's career trajectory has been that of a late developer. Beginning at Genk, his breakthrough campaign in the Belgian Pro League didn't arrive until 2018–19, when he was already 24 years old. This impressive form attracted Brighton's attention, resulting in his move to English football in 2019.
During his time at Brighton, Trossard earned his debut for Belgium's senior national team, ultimately convincing Arsenal to invest a guaranteed £20 million ($26.7 million) in January 2023.
Several other Arsenal departures could materialize before the transfer window concludes. Reiss Nelson, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Fábio Vieira have been absent from Mikel Arteta's recent plans, while Oleksandr Zinchenko and reserve keeper Karl Hein may also be heading for the exit.
The Gunners have secured transfer agreements totaling approximately £205 million ($273.7 million) this summer, with Martín Zubimendi and Viktor Gyökeres each valued at £55 million ($73.4 million) guaranteed, plus Noni Madueke's deal potentially exceeding £50 million ($66.8 million) with performance-related bonuses.
