Arsenal Unveils Stunning 2025-26 Away Kit That Pays Homage to Iconic 90s Design

Arsenal have finally revealed their new away strip for the 2025–26 season, concluding the wait with a contemporary take on a 1990s classic design.
Not many football teams have captured the essence of nostalgia as effectively as Arsenal. This unpredictable fascination with bygone eras was once labeled as an ailment by 17th century physicians, but the Gunners have generated enthusiastic excitement by revisiting their history.
The newest journey into the past reimagines the club's 1994–95 away jersey. The zigzag lightning patterns running down the shirt are preserved, though the blue shade is marginally deeper, with adidas's signature three stripes weaving across the shoulders in bold red.
During the mid-1990s, when players such as Ian Wright, Ray Parlour and Tony Adams donned the original version of this kit, Arsenal suffered through a disastrous season. The campaign was overshadowed by the shocking dismissal of legendary manager George Graham, who was fired in February following financial misconduct related to player transfers.
Graham's surprising exit was announced on the very morning Arsenal were set to play Nottingham Forest. Lee Dixon described the changing room atmosphere as being in complete "shock" while Kevin Campbell remembered: "It felt quite surreal."
The Gunners dropped to 12th position in the Premier League standings but regained some stability under interim manager Stewart Houston's guidance to advance to the European Cup Winners' Cup final. Arsenal were defeated in that championship match by Real Zaragoza.
The promotional video released with the club's kit launch—whether intentional or not—evokes the ominous atmosphere from that troubled season through a Godzilla-inspired theme. However, instead of New York or Paris being destroyed by a massive creature, Arsenal's players wearing the new kit appear as 300-foot giants. Paradoxically, one of the few figures in the brief video that maintains normal size is the club's dinosaur mascot, Gunnersaurus Rex.
