Banished Chelsea Star Stuns Club with Dramatic Training Ground Comeback
Axel Disasi has rejoined Chelsea's main training squad and is expected to stay with Enzo Maresca's team through the January transfer period.
Chelsea's so-called "bomb squad"—consisting of surplus players—dominated headlines during the summer transfer market. While players like Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka found new destinations, Disasi stayed at Stamford Bridge along with Raheem Sterling.
Both players had been training separately from Maresca's main group, but questions arose when the 27-year-old Disasi featured for Chelsea's Under-21 team last weekend, captaining the side in their 4–1 victory against Reading.
Chelsea provided no explanation for Disasi's involvement before confirming that the defender had been invited back to join Maresca's first-team training session on Thursday.
Reports from Sky Sports News suggest that Disasi will now be incorporated back into the squad until the January window opens.
Will Axel Disasi Feature for Chelsea Once More?

Following the closure of the summer window, Disasi revealed he had actively sought a loan move to Monaco, which fell through after Chelsea exhausted their international loan allowances.
Reports soon emerged that Disasi, despite being informed of his surplus status as early as January before a potential six-month stint with Aston Villa, was determined to maintain professionalism at Chelsea while hoping for a potential recall to the main squad.
Chelsea are believed to have been pleased with Disasi's attitude and commitment, potentially opening the door for his return, though his prospects for playing time remain extremely limited given his position in the hierarchy.
Despite Levi Colwill's injury concerns, Disasi faces competition from Wesley Fofana, Tosin Adarabioyo, Josh Acheampong, Trevoh Chalobah and Benoît Badiashile, with the latter recently returning from his own injury layoff.
While Disasi could serve as backup for this group, Chelsea are still anticipated to seek his departure when the January window arrives, with multiple clubs reportedly showing interest.
If Disasi does remain with Chelsea's squad over the coming months, it would make winger Raheem Sterling the sole remaining member of the "bomb squad." The club's top earner, who is receiving Chelsea's support following a recent home burglary, continues to be available for transfer.
