Barcelona Announces Major Squad Overhaul with Seven Players Set to Leave Before Next Season

Barcelona have confirmed the exit of seven youth academy talents as their contracts concluded on Monday, June 30.

The Catalan giants are renowned for developing promising players through La Masia, though only a select few manage to establish themselves in the senior squad. Players like Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsí and Gavi represent rare success stories rather than the typical outcome.

The club has officially announced that promising midfielder Pau Prim will depart after being part of the youth system since 2012, with the 19-year-old reportedly turning down a contract extension offer. Reports suggest he may be heading to Al Sadd in Qatar.

Diego Percan and Juan Piera are also set to leave as their deals expire, while Aziz Issah, Iván Cédric, Rubén López and Pedro Soma will return to their original clubs after completing loan spells with Barça Atlètic last season.

Regarding the senior team, Álex Valle completed a permanent transfer to Como earlier this summer, and Clément Lenglet moved to Atlético Madrid after his contract was terminated. Ander Astralaga has joined Granada on a loan deal, while Ansu Fati has moved to Monaco on loan with a purchase option included.

Iñigo Martínez secured a one-year extension in March after his original deal was set to expire at the end of June, and Wojciech Szczęsny is anticipated to finalize a new agreement soon, despite currently being without a contract.
