Barcelona Announces Triumphant Camp Nou Homecoming After Historic Renovation

Barcelona is set to make their highly anticipated return to Camp Nou, their beloved home stadium, on August 10, 2025, despite ongoing construction work that remains unfinished.

The Spanish club hasn't competed at this legendary ground since May 2023, when Ansu Fati's double strike helped Xavi Hernández's squad conclude a championship-winning campaign. Now, two years on, Hansi Flick has guided Barcelona to another La Liga triumph and will have the opportunity to bring his title-winning team back to the refurbished stadium for the 2025–26 season, beginning with the customary pre-season Joan Gamper Trophy match on August's second Sunday.

The Catalan club, which has been hosting matches at the less favored Olympic stadium situated on Montjuïc hill, was originally expected to return to Camp Nou in November 2024. These initial plans were postponed to the latter portion of the 2024–25 season before being further delayed in March 2025 without any specific comeback date being announced.

On August 10, Barcelona will finally return to the ground they've occupied since 1957, which was reportedly financed through the legendary performances of Hungarian star László Kubala. Nevertheless, the organization emphasizes that this "momentous occasion" represents merely a "limited reopening."

"It's crucial to understand that this homecoming will occur while construction activities persist across different sections of the venue," stated an official club announcement.

"Outstanding projects encompass finishing the new upper tier, the premium double VIP level, roof construction, and final details for multiple internal areas, plus the urban planning of the stadium's perimeter.

"Throughout this phase, the Club will work diligently to provide maximum comfort for members, supporters, and guests at the Spotify Camp Nou, improving accessibility and adjusting services to deliver the finest possible experience."
