Barcelona Makes Bold Move to Secure Rising Swedish Sensation

Barcelona's interest in wingers extends beyond Nico Williams, as the Catalan club has identified 19-year-old Swedish prospect Roony Bardghji as another potential target.
Latest reports suggest that Barcelona has reached out to Bardghji's representative. Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Blaugrana are seeking detailed information about the winger's contractual status, with his current deal at FC Copenhagen due to expire in December.
Barcelona's sporting director Deco was allegedly involved in direct discussions with the player's representative. However, no formal bid has been presented yet, and this appears to be a future project rather than an immediate acquisition, given that Bardghji would likely struggle for playing time under Hansi Flick in the upcoming campaign.
The promising Swedish youngster has attracted attention from several European clubs, with reports suggesting that Portuguese powerhouse Porto has already tabled an official bid for his services.
This isn't Bardghji's first connection to Barcelona. In 2023, while he was developing at Malmö FF's youth system, the Spanish giants showed interest in bringing him to their La Masia academy. The transfer fell through, and Bardghji subsequently joined Copenhagen, where he became a professional player at the remarkable age of 16.
During his time with the Danish outfit, Bardghji has netted 15 goals across 84 matches. Operating from the right flank, he favors cutting inward onto his stronger left foot to deliver curved strikes toward the far corner, displaying similarities to Lamine Yamal's style at Barcelona.
With Joan García's acquisition already confirmed and Williams's transfer seemingly progressing, Barcelona are demonstrating significant activity in strengthening their roster ahead of the 2025–26 season. Nevertheless, should Barça successfully complete Williams's signing, concerns may arise about the club's capacity to pursue additional signings given their publicized financial constraints.
At present, Barcelona may need to postpone any serious pursuit of Bardghji until their financial situation improves.
