Barcelona Places Price Tag on Ex-Academy Star Striker

The destiny of Barcelona forward Pau Víctor remains uncertain, as several La Liga clubs are keen on securing his services away from the Catalan giants.

Sources from Barcelona suggest the club is reluctant to allow the 23-year-old striker to leave on a temporary basis. Director of football Deco has emphasized that Barcelona will only consider Víctor's exit if a club presents an offer exceeding €10 million ($11.6 million) for a permanent deal.

Víctor arrived at Barcelona on a temporary arrangement during the 2023–24 campaign, spending most of his time with Barça's reserve squad (Barcelona Athletic). The promising forward enjoyed an exceptional season, netting 20 goals across 39 matches, which convinced Barcelona to pay €2.5 million ($3 million) to convert his loan from Girona into a permanent acquisition.

Despite featuring in 29 fixtures throughout Hansi Flick's inaugural season as Barça's head coach, he was only given starting opportunities in two games and accumulated fewer than 400 minutes of playing time in 2024–25.

Nevertheless, Barcelona view Víctor as a talented young prospect with significant upside. Flick is allegedly open to Víctor's exit provided that Barcelona can secure an offensive replacement to fill the void.

Barcelona are presently strategizing departure routes for peripheral squad members to comply with La Liga's 1:1 regulation, which would allow them to acquire and register fresh talent. However, with the club having already released Pablo Torre and the Nico Williams deal falling through, parting with another attacking option without guarantee of finding a substitute could seriously weaken the squad's depth for the upcoming campaign.

Víctor has joined Barcelona's pre-season preparations and is anticipated to be included in the squad traveling to Asia for the club's summer tour. At present, he remains a Barcelona player and serves as the sole alternative natural striker alongside Robert Lewandowski.
