Barcelona Receive Crucial Joan Garcia and Marcus Rashford Registration Decisions Before La Liga Kickoff

Marcus Rashford and Joan García have both officially been added to La Liga's registry in preparation for Barcelona's opening match of the season.

Barcelona remained busy during the summer transfer window, but similar to the previous year, they encountered challenges registering their new acquisitions and players who renewed their contracts, including crucial players Rashford and García.

Although Barcelona gained the opportunity to register García following La Liga's approval of their petition to exclude injured goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen's wages, greater uncertainty surrounded Rashford, with widespread reports suggesting he might be unavailable for Saturday's match against Mallorca.

Luckily for head coach Hansi Flick, who expressed his dissatisfaction with the ambiguity, La Liga has now included both García and Rashford in their roster. The pair were officially added on Saturday, Aug. 16, mere hours prior to the Mallorca fixture.

Nevertheless, additional work remains, as multiple players continue waiting for final confirmation of their registrations.

Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny, who renewed his deal this summer following the expiration of his prior registration, has yet to join the official list, while new acquisition Roony Bardghji and defender Gerard Martín are also absent.

Additional financial measures will be required to complete the registration of these three players, all of whom are anticipated to be officially included in Flick's squad before summer's conclusion.

Supporters are now expecting announcements regarding García and Rashford's jersey numbers. García utilized No. 1 during preseason but is officially registered with the No. 13 jersey, while the Manchester United loan player keeps the 14 he adopted earlier this summer.
