Barcelona Sends Bold Two-Word Transfer Ultimatum to Erling Haaland
Barcelona presidential hopeful Víctor Font has sparked excitement among the club's fanbase after making intriguing statements regarding a possible move for Manchester City sensation Erling Haaland.
The race for Barcelona's presidency has officially commenced ahead of the scheduled elections in March or April 2026, with Font positioning himself as the primary challenger to incumbent President Joan Laporta, who remains the frontrunner for re-election.
At his campaign launch held at the Fira de Barcelona, operating under the motto "The Barça We Want," Font was joined by club legend Xavi Hernández—the former Barcelona icon who served as the team's head coach after being hired by Laporta in 2021.
Xavi's presence at the gathering, described as a "pivotal moment" in the electoral race by Spanish publication Sport, has generated significant buzz, though Font's statements about pursuing Haaland have dominated the conversation.
Víctor Font Hints at Possible Erling Haaland Acquisition

During his campaign unveiling on the television program Onze, broadcast on Esport3, Font outlined the "thrilling vision" he was prepared to present to Barcelona supporters.
Following his remarks, journalist Cares Fité, who participated in the Onze interview, exclaimed: "Wait, he's suggesting they'll bring in Haaland!"
Rather than dismissing Fité's observation, Font merely answered: "As an example."
Font's statements have left Barcelona enthusiasts both thrilled and puzzled, as the presidential contender avoided giving a clear confirmation about targeting Haaland.
Haaland has been in phenomenal form throughout this campaign, netting an incredible 32 goals across club and international competitions in the early stages of the season. The Manchester City forward continues to establish himself as the premier striker globally and someone who could compete with Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappé.
Naturally, Haaland would represent an ideal successor to Robert Lewandowski—with the Polish veteran seemingly destined to depart Catalonia as a free agent next summer—however, Barcelona's challenging financial circumstances make securing the Norwegian unlikely at this time.
