Marc Casadó was among the standout performers of the 2024–25 season, yet uncertainty surrounding his long-term future at Barcelona has re-emerged following a quieter campaign.
Super-agent Jorge Mendes is expected to have a hectic summer in Catalonia, with finding a potential new home for Casadó sitting near the top of his agenda.
The La Masia-bred Spanish midfielder proved invaluable when Pedri and/or Frenkie de Jong were sidelined last season, and was persuaded by Hansi Flick to remain at the club over the summer. However, Casadó has since dropped down the midfield pecking order and is now expected to take a fresh look at offers still available to him.
Marc Casadó to Reconsider Barcelona Future This Summer

AS reports that an approach from Saudi Arabia was made "a few months ago," likely orchestrated by Mendes, and remains a viable option for the 22-year-old. The specific Saudi Pro League club or clubs pursuing him has not been disclosed, though any offer from that region comes with the considerable appeal of extraordinary financial rewards.
Casadó turned down that temptation last summer off the back of a breakthrough campaign, but his diminished role under Flick this season is set to prompt a reassessment.
Although Pedri and De Jong have once again battled fitness problems this season — alongside Gavi, who has only recently returned from a serious long-term knee injury — Casadó has seen his playing time eaten into by the rising Marc Bernal.
His own injury troubles kept him out during the final two months of Barcelona's treble-winning campaign, yet he had already accumulated nearly 2,500 minutes of action by mid-March. This season, Casadó has managed just 1,276 minutes and has made only three La Liga starts in 2026.
AS's report also points to Premier League interest in the 22-year-old, with Chelsea having been loosely linked during last summer's window.
Barça Likely Must Sell Before They Buy

Joan Laporta's financial maneuvering has kept Barcelona afloat in the near term, but the club's economic difficulties have yet to be fully resolved.
As a result, any meaningful squad overhaul this summer will likely require the club to offload players before making new signings. Dani Olmo is among those attracting transfer attention, with Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah reportedly interested, while Alejandro Balde's situation may also come under the spotlight.
Barça are keen to make the loans of João Cancelo and Marcus Rashford permanent, and are also said to be exploring moves for Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva, a left-footed center back, and a striker.
Micky van de Ven, Luka Vušković, and Julian Álvarez have all been connected with moves to Catalonia, but the La Liga champions stand little chance of pulling off such an ambitious transfer window without first moving on players deemed surplus to requirements.
While Olmo and Balde are unlikely to leave unless Barça receive substantial bids, Casadó's underwhelming season suggests potential buyers may not need to break the bank to secure his signature.
