Barcelona Stun Fans by Revealing U.S. Pop Sensation as Bold New Jersey Sponsor for Epic El Clasico Showdown

Barcelona's kits will display the logo of pop star Olivia Rodrigo when Real Madrid come to Camp Nou for El Clásico on May 10.

Under the sponsorship agreement signed with Spotify in early 2022, Barcelona periodically swap out the streaming giant's logo for that of a musical artist during marquee matches, typically their clashes with fierce rivals Real Madrid.

This time around, Rodrigo's logo will appear at the center of Barcelona's men's shirts for the showpiece fixture, while it will also be displayed on the women's team's kits four days prior.

"Seeing OR on a Barcelona jersey for El Clásico, I don't even know how to process that," Rodrigo said. "It's been so fun seeing the jersey come to life and creating a full collection with Spotify and Barça.

"On top of that, getting to perform for the fans who've been listening since day one, in a city like Barcelona, is going to be so special. That's everything to me. I cannot wait to see them."

The first music superstar to grace Barcelona's shirts was Drake. It was the logo of the rapper's fashion label, October's Very Own, that appeared on the kits in October 2022, though the occasion ended in a 3–1 loss to Real Madrid.

Rosalía was the most-streamed artist in Barcelona throughout 2022, and the one-year anniversary of her Motomami album was commemorated with a spot on a Clásico shirt. This outing brought far better memories, with Barcelona claiming a 2–1 victory over Los Blancos.

Later that same year, The Rolling Stones' first new release in 18 years earned the iconic band a place on Barcelona's kits. The Clásico debut of Lamine Yamal ultimately ended in heartbreak after a 92nd-minute goal from Jude Bellingham secured a 2–1 win for Madrid.

Bellingham proved to be the thorn in Barcelona's side once more in April 2024, when the club, donning the logo of Karol G, suffered a 3–2 defeat. The Englishman's decisive goal arrived in the 91st minute on that occasion.

No artist has brought Barcelona more fortune than Coldplay. Pep Guardiola famously played the band's iconic track Viva la Vida ahead of the 2009 Champions League final, and when their record Moon Music was celebrated during El Clásico in October 2024, it inspired a commanding 4–0 triumph.

Travis Scott's Cactus Jack logo took the spotlight in May 2025, the night after he performed a concert in the city. This proved to be one of the most dramatic Clásico encounters in recent times, as Barcelona overturned an early 2–0 deficit to lead 4–2 at the break—enough to hold off Kylian Mbappé's second-half effort.

It was Real Madrid who had the final say later that October. Barcelona, wearing the logo of Ed Sheeran's album Play, fell to a 2–1 defeat in a heated contest best remembered for Vinicius Junior's very public confrontation with then-manager Xabi Alonso as he was taken off.
