Barcelona Unveils Secret Strategy to Fast-Track New Player Registrations

Barcelona are frantically exploring various options to secure registration for their new acquisitions, with president Joan Laporta and the board implementing desperate strategies.

Based on multiple sources, Barcelona's leadership has recently given unanimous consent to provide a €7 million ($8.1million) financial guarantee to La Liga to achieve full compliance with the 1:1 regulation, enabling them to register their latest signings. Currently viewed as an alternative strategy, Barcelona stands ready to activate this mechanism to ensure Hansi Flick starts the campaign with his complete roster available.

Currently, Marcus Rashford, Joan García, Roony Bardghji, Wojciech Szczęsny and Gerard Martín remain unregistered and would be unavailable for Barcelona's opening match against Mallorca on Aug. 16.

Fundamentally, this guarantee would function as financial revenue for Barcelona, assisting them in satisfying La Liga's fiscal requirements.

This wouldn't mark Barcelona's inaugural use of such tactics for player registration. In 2022, Laporta alongside club treasurer Ferran Olivé provided a personal €11 million guarantee to La Liga for Jules Koundé's registration. This guarantee was subsequently cancelled when Gerard Piqué departed the club before the 2022–23 season's midpoint.

Barcelona continues to await approval from both auditing firms and La Liga concerning the VIP seat sales at the reconstructed Camp Nou. Should this transaction receive validation, €100 million ($117 million) would be credited to Barcelona's finances, restoring compliance with the 1:1 regulation and eliminating the necessity for the backup plan.

The organization also anticipates La Liga's medical panel's verdict on Marc-André ter Stegen's injury status. If La Liga's medical experts determine Ter Stegen's anticipated rehabilitation period exceeds four months, Barcelona could remove 80% of his wages to facilitate registration of additional new players, particularly goalkeeper García.

The anticipation continues, yet Barcelona appears committed to investigating all potential solutions to prevent their current unstable financial circumstances from impacting Flick's team at the season's commencement.
