Barcelona's Dream Formation: Where Harry Kane Would Fit in Xavi's Master Plan
Barcelona's strategy for life after Robert Lewandowski may direct them toward Harry Kane in what could become a sensational transfer for both the team and La Liga.
The 37-year-old Polish striker is approaching the conclusion of his existing agreement with the reigning Spanish title holders. Lewandowski's deal concludes this summer, and the organization is reportedly reluctant to provide him with a renewal, considering his advanced age and recent fitness concerns.
The forward has only begun five matches this campaign for Barcelona, frequently finding his spot in Hansi Flick's starting eleven occupied by Ferran Torres. However, Torres is not considered the long-term replacement for Lewandowski.
Rather, the Catalan side is exploring the transfer market, where they have focused their attention on Kane, who remains tied to Bayern Munich until 2027. Latest reports suggest Barcelona has identified the England skipper as their "primary objective" and might be prepared to activate his buyout clause valued at approximately €65 million (£57.2 million, $75.3 million).
Numerous challenges would obstruct this ambitious transfer, primarily Barcelona's economic difficulties and Kane's willingness—or reluctance—to depart Bayern Munich.
However, if this spectacular move materializes, how would Kane integrate with the Spanish powerhouse? Here's how Barcelona might align with the elite striker next season.
Barcelona Predicted Line Up with Harry Kane

It's evident that Kane would seamlessly transition into the primary striker position at Barcelona. With Lewandowski no longer spearheading Flick's attack, the role would be available and ideal for a scorer as accomplished as the English forward.
Kane has scored 108 goals in 113 matches since joining Bayern Munich in August 2023. For England, the striker has netted 76 times in 110 caps, establishing a national record.
Kane would not only bring his sharp finishing ability to Barcelona but would also contribute his creative skills to Flick's offensive setup, an element Lewandowski has frequently missed. The 32-year-old's awareness with possession, particularly when dropping deep to assist in build-up play, attracts defenders and would consequently create opportunities for Lamine Yamal and Raphinha to capitalize on his distribution.

Both wide players would continue as key components of Flick's forward line, with Dani Olmo operating as the team's attacking midfielder. Orchestrating from the center would naturally be Pedri and Frenkie de Jong.
Uncertainties exist regarding Barcelona's backline. Beyond securing a talent like Kane, the current Spanish champions must recruit at least one defensive addition to finally replace Iñigo Martínez, who departed the club on a free transfer last summer.
Currently, however, anticipate Jules Koundé and Alejandro Balde maintaining their positions on the flanks, with Pau Cubarsí and Ronald Araújo forming the central defensive partnership. Joan García would occupy the goalkeeper position.
Barcelona projected XI in 2026: Joan García; Jules Koundé, Ronald Araújo, Pau Cubarsí, Alejandro Balde; Pedri, Frenkie de Jong; Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo, Raphinha; Harry Kane.
