Barcelona's Latest Recruit Declares Transfer a "Dream Come True" as Deal Nears Completion

Roony Bardghji has expressed that his upcoming transfer to Barcelona represents a "dream come true" following his arrival in Spain to complete the move.

The 19-year-old talent has been recognized as one of Europe's most promising young players and is bringing his skills to Catalonia following a budget-friendly agreement valued at approximately €2 million ($2.3 million) with Danish club Copenhagen.

With Bardghji entering the last six months of his Danish contract, Barcelona seized the opportunity to secure an advantageous deal.

SPORT caught up with the teenage winger upon his arrival in Barcelona, asking Bardghji about his emotions as he prepares to join the La Liga title holders.

"I'm extremely excited to sign with Barça, it's a dream come true," Bardghji shared with reporters as he exited the airport.

Bardghji is anticipated to stay with Barcelona during pre-season so that coach Hansi Flick can evaluate the young player, following which his immediate future will be determined. A temporary loan arrangement might be considered for Bardghji if Flick cannot guarantee him consistent playing time.

As a left-footed player, Bardghji has played predominantly on the right flank throughout his time at Copenhagen. Across 84 matches for the Danish side, he has scored 15 goals, including a strike against Manchester United in the 2023–24 Champions League campaign.

Barcelona are still anticipated to pursue a more experienced attacking player this summer after failing to secure Nico Williams. Liverpool's Luis Díaz remains a target along with Manchester United's Marcus Rashford.
