Bayern Munich have launched a record-setting Bundesliga campaign, with Vincent Kompany's prolific side confirmed as title winners with a full month still left to play.
No domestic rival has come close to matching them, and, frankly, most of Europe's elite clubs have been swept aside as well. Bayern's sole stumble in the Champions League this term was a 3–1 loss at Arsenal during the league phase.
They have since asserted themselves on the continental stage, reclaiming their "Bestia Negra" status by defeating Real Madrid across two legs for the first time since 2011–12 to advance to the semifinals.
They are chasing a trophy-filled conclusion to the 2025–26 season to cap their historic goalscoring run, with the DFB-Pokal final also on the horizon next month.
Serge Gnabry Suffers Season-Ending Injury

"As for the World Cup dream with Germany...that's sadly over for me," Serge Gnabry announced on Instagram last week following a thigh tear. The once-explosive winger had enjoyed a resurgent season operating in a No. 10 role for Bayern, but he won't feature again until 2026–27.
Fortunately, Bayern have Jamal Musiala ready to step in.
Kompany, who is suspended for the first leg and will watch from the stands, may opt to deploy Michael Olise in a central role, though Lennart Karl, Olise's backup, remains sidelined. Furthermore, Tom Bischof is dealing with a calf problem and is unlikely to be available this week.
Raphaël Guerreiro picked up a hamstring injury during the tense victory over Mainz and is expected to miss out, while backup goalkeeper Sven Ulreich continues to be absent with a muscular complaint.
Bayern Munich Predicted Lineup vs. Real Madrid (4-2-3-1)

GK: Manuel Neuer—Neuer delivered an inconsistent performance in the quarterfinals, nearly throwing away the tie in the second leg. Reliable brilliance is no longer guaranteed from him, but Bayern are counting on their long-serving goalkeeper to produce three more commanding displays.
RB: Josip Stanišić—The adaptable defender has been a valuable contributor for Kompany this season, with the Belgian manager able to field Stanišić at multiple positions across the back line.
CB: Dayot Upamecano—Upamecano was outstanding in Bayern's league phase victory at the Parc des Princes, his sharp timing and physicality helping Die Roten withstand pressure from a technically gifted side. A repeat performance is expected on Tuesday.
CB: Jonathan Tah—Tah earned his place in the starting XI against Real Madrid, indicating he'll be trusted on the big occasion once again.
LB: Konrad Laimer—If Stanišić lines up on the right, the more cautious option will likely be selected on the opposite side. Alphonso Davies will surely have a part to play, however.
DM: Joshua Kimmich—Kimmich is Bayern's primary ball-progressor in midfield, though PSG's energetic engine room will give him little breathing room. The German leads the Champions League this season in line-breaking passes (19).
DM: Aleksandar Pavlović—The young midfielder could emerge as one of the quiet heroes of Germany's World Cup campaign this summer, with Julian Nagelsmann no doubt appreciating the chemistry Pavlović has built alongside one of his key players.
RW: Michael Olise—The Ballon d'Or contender secured Bayern's place in the last four with a stunning strike to complete their exhilarating quarterfinal triumph over Real Madrid. Olise has been in scintillating form this calendar year, and his duel with Nuno Mendes could be a defining factor.
AM: Jamal Musiala—Musiala has yet to fully rediscover his best form since returning from a serious leg injury, but Bayern need the creative playmaker to rise to the occasion in Gnabry's absence.
LW: Luis Díaz—The Colombian netted the crucial goal against Madrid, his ninth goal contribution in this season's competition. He'll be aiming to join Harry Kane and Olise in double figures this week.
ST: Harry Kane—Kompany has carefully managed his star striker's workload to ensure he peaks at the business end of the season. Kane's 12 European goals this campaign represent the most by an Englishman in a single edition of the European Cup/Champions League — and there may be more to come.
