Andoni Iraola makes a sentimental return as Liverpool travel to Bournemouth in the Premier League this Sunday.
It marks the Spaniard's first visit back to the Vitality Stadium since concluding his three-year tenure with the Cherries, during which he guided them into the Europa League last season. They kicked off their maiden continental campaign with a win away at Real Sociedad on Thursday, meaning new manager Marco Rose has lost just one of his six games at the helm.
Despite that, Bournemouth are yet to win in the Premier League, with an opening-day loss followed by three consecutive draws. Liverpool have similarly struggled through three frustrating draws, though Iraola did manage to secure a win at Ipswich Town a fortnight ago.
The pressure is mounting on the Reds to pick up three points on the south coast, and their Carabao Cup third-round triumph over Tottenham Hotspur in midweek will have lifted spirits. Stunning strikes from Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo and, most impressively, Dominik Szoboszlai sealed their progression and kept the club's unbeaten run under Iraola intact.

Another Stalemate for the Reds

There have been clear growing pains early in Iraola's tenure as persistent problems continue to hamper Liverpool's development. Exposed gaps in midfield have been repeatedly exploited, particularly when dealing with counter-attacks, and players are still adapting to their new manager's demands for high intensity.
Liverpool's defensive frailties have been evident as a result, with back-to-back Premier League clean sheets against modest opposition doing little to inspire confidence.
Bournemouth, well-versed in Iraola's high-press approach, will look to exploit those weaknesses with their attacking options. Alex Scott heads into the game in excellent form as a deep-lying playmaker, while Rayan, Marcus Tavernier, Evanilson and Justin Kluivert all possess the ability to create serious problems.
The key weakness for Bournemouth has been their inability to hold onto leads. In all four of their Premier League outings, they have been pegged back from winning positions, with three of those games ending with late goals conceded.
With neither side capable of a clean, error-free display at the Vitality, this could develop into a high-scoring, open affair.
Prediction: Bournemouth 2–2 Liverpool
Bournemouth Predicted Lineup vs. Liverpool

Eli Junior Kroupi continues to be a notable absentee for Bournemouth, with the youngster not expected to recover from his foot injury until November.
Amine Adli, who scored the decisive goal in this fixture last season, is also unavailable up front, with a calf problem keeping him out until after the next international break.
In addition, defenders Julián Araujo and Veljko Milosavljević are both currently in the treatment room.
Rose may consider rotating following the trip to Spain, but limited squad depth could mean he fields a near-identical starting XI on Sunday.
Bournemouth predicted lineup vs. Liverpool (4-2-3-1): Petrović; Smith, Hill, Silva, Truffert; Cook, Scott; Rayan, Kluivert, Tavernier; Evanilson.
Liverpool Predicted Lineup vs. Bournemouth

Liverpool are still without a trio of players dealing with long-term injuries, as Hugo Ekitiké, Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni all remain on the sidelines. Federico Chiesa, sidelined since mid-August, is also yet to return.
Joe Gomez made his comeback against Spurs, playing through the first half without suffering any further setbacks. He is expected to make way at Bournemouth, however, with Virgil van Dijk returning to form a central defensive partnership with Jérémy Jacquet.
As a result, Ronald Araújo will shift back to right back, while Alisson will strengthen the backline by taking over from Giorgi Mamardashvili in goal.
Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo and Milos Kerkez are all expected to keep their spots, with Dominik Szoboszlai, Bradley Barcola, Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak set to return to the starting lineup.
Liverpool predicted lineup vs. Newcastle (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Araújo, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Szoboszlai, Mac Allister; Barcola, Wirtz, Gakpo; Isak.
