Bryan Mbeumo Grows Impatient as Man Utd Transfer Talks Hit Roadblocks

Manchester United target Bryan Mbeumo is reportedly becoming increasingly impatient with the stalled transfer discussions between the clubs.

Earlier in June, sources indicated that the Brentford striker had expressed his desire to move to Old Trafford, with United identifying him as their priority signing following their £62.5 million ($85.1 million) acquisition of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.

However, the Red Devils have seen two offers rejected for Mbeumo, with their latest proposal valued at £55 million ($74.9 million) plus £7.5 million ($10.2 million) in performance-related bonuses. The Bees are reportedly demanding up to £70 million ($95.3 million) for their star player.

According to the Evening Standard, Brentford's asking price exceeds what United paid for Cunha, with the club pointing to recent deals like Chelsea's £50 million ($68.1 million) purchase of Noni Madueke and Newcastle's £55 million ($74.9 million) signing of Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest as justification for their valuation.

As United contemplate submitting a third offer, Mbeumo's patience is reportedly wearing thin. The Bees are scheduled to return for pre-season preparations next week, and the forward may be forced to rejoin his current teammates if no agreement is reached soon.

Brentford's director Phil Giles has maintained that the club would be content to retain Mbeumo if their price expectations aren't met, suggesting the 25-year-old would be satisfied remaining at the club.

Despite this, Mbeumo continues to anticipate a summer departure, leaving United to decide whether to increase their bid. The player's current deal runs until 2026, with Brentford holding an option to extend it by another year.

United have maintained their stance against overpaying for transfers this summer, particularly given their restricted budget. The club is looking to generate substantial revenue through player departures but has encountered difficulties in this area as well.

Marcus Rashford continues to wait for Barcelona's interest, while high salary expectations are complicating potential exits for both Antony and Jadon Sancho. Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia are also being made available for transfer.
