Bryan Mbeumo Promises Man Utd Fans the Complete Package: 'A Little Bit of Everything'

Bryan Mbeumo has disclosed his desire to operate within a defined tactical framework at Manchester United, while maintaining the creative license to express himself in the final third of the pitch.

The winger joins Old Trafford following an outstanding campaign at Brentford where he netted 20 Premier League goals and registered eight assists during the 2024–25 season. This performance led to a £71 million ($100.1 million) move and expectations that the Cameroon star will deliver significant contributions.

During the previous campaign, Mbeumo flourished operating from the right flank for Brentford. Initial indications suggest he may adopt a modified role wearing United colors, functioning as one of two attacking midfielders, while retaining the versatility to move wide and potentially create numerical advantages alongside the right wing-back.

"I believe it encompasses various elements," Mbeumo explained on the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast when discussing how his playing approach might integrate.

"Naturally, the manager has his tactical vision. Subsequently, it falls to the players to execute the performance.

"I'm an individual who appreciates having structure, understanding my responsibilities under the manager. However, clearly, in my role within the attacking zone, you must contribute your personal flair and inventiveness.

"I believe this aspect is crucial for me because I value creativity. Therefore, I enjoy movement across the field, avoiding static positioning. Nevertheless, you must adhere to certain formations and tactical principles. Beyond that, it's simply you and your footballing ability."

Mbeumo, who is expected to make his unofficial United appearance against Everton in Atlanta on August 3, recognizes the weight of expectations following his impressive statistical output last season, but maintains his readiness to meet the challenge.

"I believe when you achieve 20 goals in the preceding season, you face considerable...expectations," he stated. "I'm someone who embraces challenges and I'll simply attempt to replicate [last season's performance]."
