Bryan Mbeumo Reveals What Makes Ruben Amorim's Man Utd Tactics Stand Out After Facing Them

Manchester United striker Bryan Mbeumo has defended Ruben Amorim's controversial tactical approach, stating it's not responsible for the club's current difficulties.

Having secured only nine victories in 33 Premier League matches, Amorim has encountered mounting criticism to alter a formation that many believe doesn't suit the existing roster. The manager, nevertheless, remains committed to the 3-4-2-1 system that brought him triumph at Sporting CP and has consistently pledged to maintain it.

Mbeumo joined the club this summer to help United adapt to the new approach, having functioned as both a forward and wide player in a comparable role at his previous team Brentford, and he supported Amorim's tactical choice when questioned about his views.

"It's somewhat different for me," he shared with Sky Sports. "I've utilized this formation previously as well.

"Naturally, we're aware of various opinions, but it's our duty to identify the positives and enhance our performance. I don't believe there's any issue with this formation, it's simply about us developing in specific aspects."

Mbeumo's remarks mirror recent statements from defender Matthijs de Ligt, who urged the players to accept greater accountability for United's disappointing displays, instead of allowing the criticism to focus solely on Amorim.

"I believe every member of the squad must accept responsibility," Mbeumo added. "When you represent a club of this magnitude, everyone must understand their role. As a collective, we must perform better."

Despite the current upheaval, Mbeumo expressed that he has appreciated his initial months at Old Trafford and supported the team's ability to regain their form shortly.

"It's thrilling, as we have the opportunity to learn alongside new teammates and it's always demanding, but that's what we enjoy as professional players," Mbeumo explained.

"Certainly it will get better, we haven't had much time playing together, so there are particular aspects we'll enhance, and there are various player types, but it's wonderful to work with them."
