Bryan Mbeumo's Man United Debut: When Will the New Signing Take the Field?

Rather than pursuing negotiations, Manchester United simply waited more than a month before ultimately accepting Brentford's asking price for Bryan Mbeumo.

With the Cameroonian winger making his intentions crystal clear that United was his sole destination this summer, it appeared Mbeumo would quickly join Wolverhampton Wanderers' Matheus Cunha at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils attempted several offers that were rejected by the Bees, until growing speculation around Yoane Wissa prompted decisive action. Brentford refused to part with both attacking stars in one window, forcing United to meet their exact valuation to prevent chaos: £71 million ($95.2 million).

While the fee may seem excessive, supporters won't mind if Mbeumo replicates the form he displayed in west London. United's attack couldn't possibly underperform more than it did during 2024–25, giving Ruben Amorim's forward line genuine potential to flourish next season with two established Premier League talents leading the charge.

Fans have already witnessed new No. 10 Cunha in action during a lackluster preseason stalemate with Leeds United, and here's when Mbeumo is anticipated to wear United colors for the first time as his transfer nears completion.

When Bryan Mbeumo is Expected to Make Man Utd Debut

Man Utd are working to finalize the Mbeumo transfer quickly so the winger can join Amorim's squad for the Red Devils' preseason tour across the United States, according to Sky Sports News.

United are among four Premier League clubs participating in the 2025 Summer Series, with matches against West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton planned in New York, Chicago and Atlanta, respectively.

Should Mbeumo make the trip, the Cameroonian forward is likely to appear in United's tour opener against West Ham, scheduled for midnight (BST) on Sunday, 27 July. United then meet the Cherries at 2:30 a.m. (BST) on Thursday, 31 July, before wrapping up their tour against the Toffees on Sunday, 3 August.

The new acquisition's official presentation is anticipated before Amorim's squad departs for Chicago on Tuesday.
