Bukayo Saka Boldly Declares Arsenal Ready to Seize Premier League Title
Bukayo Saka believes Arsenal can break their lengthy drought for a fourth Premier League championship, pointing to the team's squad depth as a key element in their impressive campaign start.
Focus has shifted to defending champions Liverpool dropping four consecutive Premier League matches—matching their total losses from the entire 2024–25 campaign—while significant attention has been placed on Ruben Amorim's performance at Manchester United.
This has enabled Arsenal to operate relatively quietly, despite sitting atop the Premier League standings after securing seven victories in their first nine fixtures—holding a six-point advantage over Manchester City and seven points clear of Liverpool in seventh place.
A successful summer recruitment period, which brought in Viktor Gyökeres, Eberechi Eze and Martín Zubimendi among other signings, has provided substantial depth to an Arsenal roster already filled with emerging talent, and Mikel Arteta has previously emphasized the importance of quality additions across all positions.
Arsenal's positive beginning has led many to view them as the leading contenders for the Premier League crown—a feat they haven't accomplished since their 'Invincible' campaign under Arsene Wenger in 2003–04.
Speaking with Sky Sports News, Saka avoided making bold predictions but acknowledged that his confidence and faith in Arsenal's potential has reached new heights.
"When you play for Arsenal, there's always ongoing discussion about your position and performance," he explained. "At times it feels excessive, but this season I believe we have a very solid unit with considerable talent."
Saka: It's Time to Build Momentum

"We've dealt with numerous injuries already, but the replacement players have demonstrated our ability to maintain the highest standards, which is what's required to achieve our ultimate goal," Saka continued.
"That's where we've fallen short in previous campaigns, but this season we possess that quality and it's making me genuinely believe we can succeed.
"Having been involved in title challenges for three consecutive years and finishing runner-up each time, I've learned that current position isn't crucial. April is when you need to be there, that's when you must aim to be leading.
"Right now it's about maintaining our position, developing momentum and then producing a series of strong performances."
Saka has experienced his own injury setbacks, with a hamstring problem sidelining him for six matches across all competitions, but the acquisition of Noni Madueke from London rivals Chelsea helped compensate for his unavailability.
Saka: Gyokeres Is a Top Player

The absence of Kai Havertz has been addressed through Gyökeres' arrival, though Saka acknowledged the squad is still adjusting to his different approach and playing style compared to last season's leading goalscorer.
"As a squad last season we didn't utilize a striker of his type, we had Kai [Havertz], who brings different qualities," Saka reflected on Gyökeres.
"Therefore, we're working to adjust to his style and help create more opportunities for him, but simultaneously, I see him becoming increasingly comfortable each match and performing well—the goals will follow. I'm not concerned. Nobody at the club is worried. He's an exceptional player."
