Cameroon Chief Reveals Direct Talks with Bryan Mbeumo as Man Utd Chase Transfer Deal

Cameroon's assistant coach Ashu Cyprian Besong has revealed discussions with Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo regarding his disappointment over the stalled transfer negotiations with Manchester United.

Recent reports indicate that Mbeumo is dissatisfied with the slow progress in discussions about his potential move, after clearly expressing his desire to join United early in the summer window. The Red Devils have seen two offers rejected, with their latest bid reaching £62.5 million ($84.9 million).

Manchester United are eager to complete Mbeumo's signing before their pre-season tour of the United States begins, though they struggle to meet Brentford's valuation, reportedly around £70 million ($95.1 million).

Besong has now revealed details of his personal discussions with Mbeumo, confirming the Cameroonian striker's disappointment with the prolonged situation.

"Clearly he feels very frustrated about the extended timeline," Besong shared with Telecom Asia. "However, he remains professional and understands these processes.

"When I contacted him roughly a week ago, he appeared composed despite everything happening. Nevertheless, he has already informed them of his intention to move to United.

"He simply hopes both clubs can reach an understanding, as he feels deeply appreciative of the opportunities Brentford has provided throughout his career."

In conversation with Stretford Paddock, reporter Laurie Whitwell suggested that INEOS's reluctance to overpay is causing the negotiation delays between both clubs.

United's new co-owners are determined to shed their reputation for excessive spending on players, while also recognizing they must exercise financial restraint following a period of significant staff layoffs and budget reductions throughout the organization.
