A tantalizing showdown between Liverpool and Chelsea at Anfield is the standout fixture in Wednesday's Carabao Cup fourth round draw.
The draw got underway shortly after Manchester United suffered a stunning exit at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford. Fabian Hürzeler's outfit became the second-to-last team to secure their spot in the last 16, joining the ranks of Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea in the fourth round.
Reigning cup champions Manchester City, who face Norwich City on Thursday, are expected to be the final club to advance in the competition. The victor of that match will be rewarded with a fourth-round tie against Brighton.
All attention will inevitably be drawn to Chelsea's visit to Merseyside, however. The Blues weren't originally due to face Andoni Iraola's side until December, but now get an opportunity to take on the Reds a full two months ahead of schedule.
A London derby is also on the agenda, with Fulham set to host Crystal Palace. Arsenal, meanwhile, have been handed a tie against League Two outfit Fleetwood Town. The Gunners are the only top-flight side not facing fellow Premier League opposition in the fourth round.

The Carabao Cup fourth round takes place during the week of Oct. 26. The tournament resumes three weeks after domestic football returns following the newly merged September-October international break.
The quarterfinals are scheduled for the week of Dec. 14, just ahead of the hectic festive period in the Premier League and across English football. Teams will have precious little time to recover from the jam-packed Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year's fixtures before the first leg of the semifinals gets underway on Jan. 11.
An extended break then sees the semifinalists wait until Feb. 1 to contest the second legs of their ties. The two triumphant sides will earn their place at Wembley Stadium for the final on March 21.
