Carabao Cup Quarterfinal Draw Revealed: Here Are All the Blockbuster 2026–27 Fixtures

Just eight clubs are left standing in the Carabao Cup, with a series of compelling quarterfinal matchups set to take center stage.

The tournament's earlier rounds delivered no shortage of excitement, with Manchester United's shocking exit at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion stealing the headlines in a thrilling third round. Yet that proved to be merely a preview of the drama that followed in the fourth round.

Current Premier League title holders Arsenal were knocked out via penalty shootout by League Two outfit Fleetwood Town, marking the most remarkable upset in the modern history of the Carabao Cup. Defending champions Manchester City then required a late rally and spot kicks to edge past Brighton.

Penalties continued to dominate the narrative at Anfield, where Liverpool and Chelsea battled through eight rounds of shootout drama before Wesley Fofana's wildly wayward attempt gifted the Reds their spot in the last eight.

The pressure will only intensify in the quarterfinals, where both promising and treacherous routes to Wembley Stadium in March await the surviving sides.

When Are the Carabao Cup Quaterfinals?

Carabao Cup trophy

The Carabao Cup quarterfinals are scheduled to take place during the week of Dec. 14. It's a punishing run for the clubs involved, who must now absorb an extra midweek game right before the grueling festive period kicks in.

Liverpool, City, Bournemouth, Sunderland and Crystal Palace, all of whom have European commitments, face a minimum of eight matches across all competitions in December alone—and that's before accounting for the New Year's fixture frenzy that arrives when 2027 begins.

Depth in the squad and shrewd rotation policies will be essential for those sides to navigate such a congested stretch. The last thing any of them can afford is an injury crisis, especially given that the Carabao Cup represents arguably the best opportunity for several of these clubs to claim a trophy this campaign.

The quarterfinals will again be decided in single-leg ties, with the semifinals then played out over two legs.
