Carrick's Man Utd Explodes in Chaotic Nine-Minute Thriller Against Fulham
Benjamin Šeško found the net in the 94th minute to complete a thrilling finish to Manchester United's 3–2 triumph over Fulham on Sunday evening.
What appeared destined to be a straightforward 2–0 victory for the home side was thrown into turmoil by Raúl Jiménez's 85th-minute spot kick. Kevin came on as a substitute to fire the away team level during added time with a thunderous strike from distance before Šeško provided the decisive blow to preserve Michael Carrick's perfect record since taking charge at Manchester United.
Despite the elation of another trademark late winner, Carrick will undoubtedly be deeply troubled by how Fulham carved through his team's vulnerable midfield following Casemiro's substitution. Making his final Old Trafford bow after confirming his summer departure, the Brazilian netted and assisted United's opening two strikes in an outstanding individual performance, leaving the field to thunderous applause with 15 minutes remaining and his team leading comfortably 2–0.
Pandemonium followed his departure, posing significant concerns about how United will fill the void left by their influential midfielder in the upcoming campaign.

Brazil's 2002 World Cup champion defensive midfielder Gilberto Silva previously labeled his fellow countryman Casemiro as "The Invisible Man." He was anything but invisible against Fulham. Beyond his commanding header that opened the scoring after 19 minutes, the veteran showcased remarkable finesse with a clever blind pass that set up United's other standout performer: Cunha.
Just weeks earlier, it seemed inconceivable that Patrick Dorgu's absence would cause any meaningful concern. However, the versatile wing-back had been revitalized as a winger under Carrick, beginning, excelling and finding the net in the caretaker manager's opening two fixtures. Cunha, who had been relegated to the bench to accommodate the unconventional dynamo, was granted the opportunity to step into Dorgu's role on Sunday. He seized it brilliantly.
Given license to drift centrally from his left-wing position, Cunha's movement brought him to the right flank where he could attack Jorge Cuenca. The uncertain center-back had already barely avoided one penalty shout involving Bryan Mbeumo when he pulled Cunha down. A VAR examination revealed the infringement occurred just outside the penalty area, leading to the free kick that Bruno Fernandes curled perfectly for Casemiro's opening header.
Cunha added his name to the scoresheet 10 minutes into the second period. Again appearing on the right side of the field, the roaming left winger received Casemiro's elegant pass and hammered it into the top corner past Bernd Leno.

With a tackle reminiscent of Micky van de Ven's challenge against Liverpool earlier this campaign, Harry Maguire unnecessarily put Old Trafford on tenterhooks for a frantic finale. United's careless center-back didn't injure Jiménez seriously, but conceded a penalty that Fulham's determined effort had earned.

GK: Senne Lammens—8.1: Produced multiple vital saves during regular play but couldn't deal with Jiménez's peculiar, hesitant penalty.
RB: Diogo Dalot—7.6: Assigned a much more defensively focused role, Dalot struggled to contain Samu Chukwueze's persistent runs past him.
CB: Harry Maguire—7.3: Mistimed his challenge to concede a penalty that created unnecessary tension in the closing stages.
CB: Lisandro Martínez—7.0: Available to make several important defensive interventions.
LB: Luke Shaw—6.7: With Cunha cutting inside, Shaw was expected to provide width down the left flank, but offered minimal attacking contribution.
CM: Casemiro—8.8: Turned back the clock with a dynamic performance worthy of someone much younger than his 33 years.
CM: Kobbie Mainoo—7.3: Buzzing around the field with renewed vigor and liberation. Each strong showing from the 20-year-old makes Ruben Amorim's dismissal increasingly baffling.
AM: Bruno Fernandes (c)—8.6: United's consistent leader was in fine form, matching the team's overall excellence.
RW: Amad Diallo—7.5: Successfully outpaced the lightning-quick Antonee Robinson, who also couldn't match Amad's technical ability.
ST: Bryan Mbeumo—7.1: Served more as a disruptor than a genuine threat, leaving the creative burden to his teammates.
LW: Matheus Cunha—7.5: Replacing the injured Patrick Dorgu, Cunha received a completely different assignment, roaming freely across the pitch from his designated left-wing spot.
SUB: Benjamin Šeško (74' for Cunha)—7.7: Struck the crossbar with his initial touch before missing a simpler rebound opportunity, then calmly converted the decisive goal.
SUB: Manuel Ugarte (75' for Casemiro)—6.5: Provided only a small portion of Casemiro's authority and influence.
SUB: Noussair Mazraoui (86' for Dalot)—N/A
