Casemiro has confessed he is "hoping not to cry" during his final Manchester United appearance next month, with the midfielder set to depart the club when his contract expires this summer.
The Brazilian's anticipated summer exit following the conclusion of his deal was confirmed back in January, marking the beginning of a prolonged farewell at a club where he has earned cult status since arriving in 2022.
Casemiro's performances this season have arguably been the finest of his United tenure, though his plans to wind down his career elsewhere—potentially in Saudi Arabia or Major League Soccer—have remained firm despite persistent "one more year" chants from supporters at Old Trafford.
Speaking to United's official club media this week, a "grateful" Casemiro described it as "an honor for us to listen to the fans' love and affection." He added that he will carry the supporters in his heart "for the rest of my life."
Casemiro continued: "Lots of people think it is just the last few months, since the announcement, but I have to be thankful, since the very first day that I arrived here, the fans have been amazing with me and my family.
"It's just gratitude for this love, it is so exciting. I am hoping not to cry on my last day, as it is such a beautiful experience. My wife already cried, the other day, when the fans were asking for one more year. I just want to enjoy it, enjoy all the moments and I will be a United fan for the rest of my life."
Casemiro's Final Seven Man Utd Games

Casemiro, a Carabao Cup and FA Cup winner, has just seven matches remaining as a Manchester United player, during which he will hope to cement a legacy of Champions League qualification—something that should signal the beginning of a new era for the club following several turbulent years.
The 34-year-old has been a consistent fixture in the starting lineup throughout the season, regardless of whether Ruben Amorim, Darren Fletcher, or Michael Carrick has been in the dugout. He is consequently expected to feature from the off in each remaining fixture, with a reported contract extension clause tied to 35 Premier League starts said to have been removed—though Casemiro can still reach that threshold.
United have been without a match since March 20 due to the international break, and face a further gap of nearly two weeks before their clash with rivals Leeds United on April 13.
Additional April fixtures follow against Chelsea, a result that could effectively secure Champions League qualification, and Brentford. In May, the Red Devils take on Liverpool, Sunderland, Nottingham Forest, and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Casemiro will bid his final farewell to the Old Trafford faithful following the home fixture against Forest on May 17.
