Challenge Accepted: Can You Identify Every One of the 56 Teams Mohamed Salah Has Struck Against For Liverpool?

Jürgen Klopp's initial impression of Mohamed Salah, after reviewing hours of footage provided by Liverpool's scouting team in the summer of 2017, was that he was a promising winger but certainly "not the finishing monster." That perception would quickly evolve.

Throughout his nine seasons on Merseyside, Salah's goalscoring record was as remarkable as it was wide-ranging. Equally adept at bursting in behind high defensive lines and threading through compact low blocks, there were very few opponents who walked away from a clash with Salah without suffering damage.

A total of 56 different clubs found themselves on the receiving end of the Liverpool icon's lethal strike across all competitions. How many of those unfortunate victims can you identify?

The Staggering Numbers Behind Salah's Liverpool Career

Mohamed Salah

In today's game, greatness tends to get reduced to raw statistics a little too readily. A player's nuance often buried beneath an avalanche of numbers. Yet Salah has no hesitation letting his figures speak for themselves.

After clinching his second Premier League title with a commanding 5–1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in April 2025, Liverpool's star man had a straightforward message for those watching: "You can see the numbers."

The 2024–25 season certainly delivered some extraordinary statistics; Salah became only the third player in Premier League history to finish as both the outright top scorer and leading assist provider in the same campaign, accumulating 29 goals and 18 assists. Salah directly contributed to more top-flight goals that season (47) than Manchester United managed as a team (44).

United serve as a fascinating benchmark for Salah. No club has conceded more goals to the Egyptian King than the Red Devils. Across the 2020s so far, Salah ranks as the eighth highest Premier League scorer at Old Trafford—Manchester United players included, as noted by The Athletic's Duncan Alexander.

No player in Premier League history has scored more goals (13) or provided more assists (six) against Manchester United, the most decorated club in the competition's history and Liverpool's fiercest long-standing rivals.

Salah found the net against nearly every team unfortunate enough to face him. But he consistently reserved his finest displays for the grandest of stages.
