Chaos Erupts as Rival Fans Ambush Barcelona and Real Madrid Team Buses Before El Clasico Showdown

The Real Madrid team bus had a window smashed, while Barcelona's bus also took damage after supporters hurled objects at both vehicles ahead of Sunday night's highly anticipated clash at Camp Nou.

Always a fiercely contested fixture, this Clásico carries extra weight given that the hosts need just a single point to secure the league title, leaving their fierce rivals facing yet another campaign without silverware. Remarkably, in nearly 100 years of La Liga history, the championship has never officially been decided during a Clásico.

Hansi Flick's side are also on the verge of completing a flawless home record, having won all 17 of their league fixtures at Camp Nou so far in 2025–26, while the milestone of 100 points in a single season is still within reach heading into this encounter.

Team Buses Come Under Attack

The intense atmosphere surrounding the match was on full display across the streets of Barcelona in the hours before kick-off, with both team buses pelted by objects thrown from the crowd.

El Mundo journalist Abraham P. Romero shared a photo of Madrid's coach showing a shattered side window after it pulled into Camp Nou, having been struck repeatedly during its arrival.

Separate footage filmed from inside the bus captures the squad enduring a relentless bombardment from supporters outside, painting a hostile picture ahead of the evening's contest.

In a strange twist, Barcelona's own team bus was also struck by object-throwing supporters—though apparently due to a case of mistaken identity.

Footage spreading across social media shows the club's coach parked at Camp Nou bearing several visible dents, having been pelted with stones and debris while anti-Madrid chants echoed through the surrounding streets.

Madrid Enter the Clásico After Week From Hell

For Real Madrid supporters, Sunday's trip to Barcelona is one they would rather see pass quickly, with the dreaded possibility of watching their rivals lift the title at their expense hanging over the occasion.

The fixture arrives at the tail end of a torrid week for Madrid, who have been engulfed in internal turmoil following reports of a dressing room fallout.

Both Aurélien Tchouaméni and Federico Valverde were handed fines after a physical altercation during Thursday's training session that left the Uruguayan requiring hospital treatment. Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappé—sidelined for the Clásico due to a hamstring problem—continues to court controversy in the wake of his ill-judged trip to Italy.
