Chelsea Drops Stunning Retro Third Kit for 2025-26 Season Featuring Classic Throwback Badge

Chelsea have brought back their classic club crest on their brand-new third strip for the 2025–26 season.

Kit suppliers Nike have revived their iconic Total 90 line this year, with teams like Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona already unveiling their alternative jerseys for the upcoming season, and Chelsea are the most recent to join in.

The fresh third strip maintains simplicity and honors the championship-winning season of 2004–05. A black foundation showcases blue and silver accents and is enhanced by the revival of the classic crest. This particular design was used from 2003 to 2005 but originates from as early as 1986.

2005 marked a pivotal moment for Chelsea. Under José Mourinho's guidance, the Blues secured their inaugural Premier League championship, driven by stars like Frank Lampard, John Terry and Didier Drogba, while Chelsea Women—previously called Chelsea Ladies—were officially acknowledged as part of the organization after gaining promotion to the premier division.

Created as a form of "generational handover", the new Chelsea third strip is intended to "welcome this emerging group of icons" to continue the legacy of those who initiated a memorable period at Stamford Bridge two decades ago.

Chelsea's new T90 collection also features a coordinating anthem jacket, a warm-up shirt and multiple training apparel pieces.

Similar to the home and away launches, there is no primary sponsor displayed on the jersey as the Blues persist in their search for a suitable partnership. Club executives counted on securing Champions League qualification last season to boost their appeal to prospective sponsors and, after reaching that objective, discussions are believed to be continuing privately.

Chelsea have also not yet announced how the central club crest will affect the new world champions badge, which occupies a central spot on the home jersey. The Blues initially positioned the golden emblem directly between the Chelsea crest and the Nike symbol, but their Premier League season opener showed a choice to move the Club World Cup badge up to just beneath the collar.
