Chelsea Fire Up for Premier League Return With Massive Last-Minute Boost

Chelsea are set to have Moisés Caicedo back in their matchday squad for Saturday's Premier League clash against Bournemouth, with Xabi Alonso confirming the midfielder has recovered from his injury.

The rocky start to Alonso's tenure has been made worse by Caicedo's absence, as a calf problem restricted him to just 14 minutes of action across the opening weeks of the season.

Without their midfield anchor, Chelsea have suffered considerable defensive woes, shipping 10 goals across their last four games in all competitions. Fortunately, the lengthy three-week international break has allowed the 24-year-old sufficient time to return to full fitness.

"Yes, he is ready to go," Alonso confirmed when asked about Caicedo's availability against Bournemouth. "We have used the time with Moi to get him back fit. He has been training well and he is okay to go."

Alonso was compelled to deploy an unconventional midfield duo of Valentín Barco and Jordan Henderson during the disappointing 3–0 loss to Brentford prior to the international break, but Caicedo's return considerably alleviates his worries in a position where Chelsea are already stretched thin on options.
