Chelsea Land Star Winger Alejandro Garnacho in Blockbuster Deal, Secures Long-Term Future

Chelsea have finalized the permanent acquisition of Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho.

The Argentine international was in attendance at Stamford Bridge as the Blues secured a 2–0 victory over Fulham in the west London clash, with his signing officially confirmed just hours afterward.

Garnacho has committed to a seven-year deal with Chelsea running through the summer of 2032.

The transfer amount remains undisclosed, though earlier reports suggested a guaranteed fee of £40 million ($54 million) plus a 10% sell-on clause for any future transfer.

"This is an incredible moment for my family and myself to become part of this magnificent club," the 21-year-old shared with Chelsea's official media. "I'm eager to begin. I witnessed the Club World Cup and joining the world champions feels extraordinary—we're the top team globally! It's wonderful to be here and I'm extremely pleased."

Garnacho emerged in Manchester United's senior squad in 2022, following his pivotal role in the club's FA Youth Cup triumph that season. He featured in 144 matches across just over three campaigns, with his final appearance coming as a substitute in last May's Europa League final. His frustrated remarks following that match, where he expressed dissatisfaction with his playing time, seemingly created tension with manager Ruben Amorim.

A Manchester United statement read: "We extend our gratitude to Alejandro for his contributions and wish him success in the next phase of his career."

Chelsea marked the acquisition by photographing Garnacho in his new blue jersey, positioned on advertising boards, recreating his signature goal celebration from his United tenure.
